Just picked up this sound bar.

It's connected to the TV via the ARC HDMI.

Since it's only a 2.1 system is there any benefit in connecting up the 360 and PS3 via the optical connections so the soundbar can identify DTS and Dobly Pro Logic 2?

Dolby Pro Logic is merly an algorithm for converting stereo sound into surround. As far as I am aware it does not improve the actual quality.

Quality wise that is dictated by the connection, ie optical is better than rca and direct hdmi is better than optical.

One thought though is you might prefer the sound if it is processed via Dolby. While not technically better, it is subjective.
