    Ooh. Sounds like they are cracking out the "Which PS2 game should we port next" roulette table. Good shout.

    @SolidSCB They better port some GTA games.

    Hmm now that I think about he says "new games" not just "games".

    I've emailed Eurogamer, should be a big news article up tomorrow. Pretty much a "megaton" revelation.

    On this very subject, a mate of mine who works for a big publisher let slip that there's lots of new software out on PS3 this year but I'm supposed to keep schtum about it.

    Here's hoping for actually new and original content and not just pared-down versions of PS3 games. A new LocoRoco and Patapon wouldn't be a bad start. Then elsewhere more new games like Tearaway, Gravity Rush and Soul Survivor. Given the games I already have via PS+, I'd be tempted to get one if it had a good year of software support.

    E3 and TGS are massive for me. If they disappoint I'll probably sell my Vita.

    Tbf. This is on a par with hearing that they're still working on 3DO games.

    If this is news for Vita owners then that's just depressing...

    'Some unannounced game(s) are coming out, honest!'

    I presume that 'software' == OS updates?

    I think Sony should stop trying to sell it as a portable home console and play to the format's strengths more. It didn't work with the PSP and I don't think it'll work with the Vita either.

    The PSP sold 76 million and is the 7th best selling console of all time.

    Its strength is its versatility. It can do either Uncharted, or Angry Birds with no compromises.

    Yeah well, you can prove anything with facts.

    All the Vita needs is for Sony to drop the ridiculous 40 full price game price tag to 15-20.

    That may not be very easy. These are, after all, near home console-quality games with the appropriate cost to make.

    @dominalien

    PC game prices are 20-30 so I don't see how Sony can get away with 30-40 for Vita games.

    The PSP did well for itself, but how much of that was purely down to the Japanese market, and because of a couple of key franchises (namely Monster Hunter)? After a bit of initial promise the PSP was a complete flop in the west - wasn't it?
  • Deleted user 3 February 2013 16:45:42
    At 20 - 30 quid, considering the number of Vita owners out there, are they going to make their money back from it?

    I'm more than happy to pay upward of 30 for a game if the quality and size of the game are great enough.

    @bladdard

    PC games are a bad example, because there no one pays licensing fees, and it's there that the manufacturer of the console gets their profit from. I don't know if you remember, but the PSP started off with very high game prices as well and the market corrected this very quickly. The same will happen here, should people not find value in the games at these prices.
