Sorta a necessity now days, no one carries cash anymore.

I agree that it's a necessity these days, but I wonder how it works. The fastest way would be to maybe have some preset "tap card to donate" amount, but that doesn't exactly sound secure. But getting someone to input their own amount would be pretty cumbersome.

This one had contactless stickers on it. I would guess there’s a set amount, otherwise the guy would have to keep pausing his Jimi Hendrix backing tape to put the amount in

PayPal have contactless card sets that are for set values. The user can not make any change to them so it will only ever take a certain amount out.

I would hope so if they are VAT registered limited enterprises

I was driving in Cyprus last year and the crazy fucks kept driving on the wrong side of the road.
I passed my driving test there (it counts as a UK licence). From walking into the test centre, waiting to be called, taking the test and walking out again was less than 20 minutes. Test itself was so short that I almost got into trouble asking if that was all I was being asked to do when he said to pull up.

To be fair, sleeping properly/enough isn't simply a choice (oh how I wish it were)

Even disregarding noisy neighbours, kids, a cranky/ill/... partner and other external factors some people just have trouble sleeping and they're as tired afterwards as anyone else.

20 years ago when I was a fairly fledgling 1st line support analyst, I was tasked with training new starters. One bloke who was sat with me on one occasion actually fell asleep sat up. I genuinely thought he was taking the piss.

No way i was a boring cunt back then. I was off the hook.

    I can sympathise.

It can be tricky to stay engaged if you have been listening to a lot of people talk about their job. Especially for several hours in an office environment where you don't really get to interact with anything just sit and listen.

Other peoples jobs is basically white noise to anyone who doesn't have experience in their industry.

Some people have interesting jobs, its not all boring office wank.

I had some proper horror stories on standby when we had temps in to put the shits up them.

    RIGHT UP THEM.

Surely you had the odd person jump in front of a bus whilst on the phone to you.

    I know I did.

    Fun times!

Mine was New Deal 25+ back in the Employment Service days. Caseload of depressed people who had been signing on for years and had lost the will to live.

Actually scratch that, nothing is depressing as hearing some old dear cry her eyes out as one of my neighbours is doing right now. Definitely sounds worse in catalan.
