I imagine I'll still be living in a shared house when i retire. Except I won't be able to retire. So I'll be 70 years old working on a checkout line as my faculties are to dulled by age to do much else. Sleeping in a shitty house that's a hairs breadth away from squalor. Yay. A Darvon cocktail seems more appealing.

At least then I can go out how I lived. Wearing sandals and socks indoors.
I think we can update that Thatcher* quote to "Anyone living in a shared house over 35 is a failure".

    *Or whoever actually said it

Think the robots will have everyone's job eventually. Well enough for us to consider a life without work being the norm.

Scary or liberating. Depends who's in government and whether fascism will once again attempt to wipe us all out.

Good luck C_H! I just wish that my co-habitants had the same ridiculously high standards of tidiness and hygiene that I do.

Good luck CH. The wife is away for 3 days starting next Friday with the girls and her mum. I can't fucking wait. I feel like I'm counting down to Xmas as a child.

The robots will have the jobs and the ultra-rich won't need us anymore.

So it'll be a life of squalor for everyone, punctuated by catastrophic droughts/floods and mass die-offs.

Occasionally we will rise up, only for AI sentry turrets and facial-recognition killbots to beat back the crowds while drones indiscriminately firebomb our sprawling slums until we accept our diet of ground-up insects and turbid marshwater.

Is there anything more annoying than plugging your phone in to charge and then waking up to see it's only at 50%? I want a new phone.

    My teetotalling diary, continued:

Well, I don't really fit the "teetotaller" description, as I've had a total of two half-pints of beer (one of them a stout) over the last 3 weeks. But it's as close as I've ever gotten.

And I don't even really feel like I cheated. When I had those drinks, I did it because I *wanted* them, not because I needed them. I also stopped at one, and didn't feel the need to have another the next night or whatever.

I have a cold at the moment, so it's a bit difficult to feel the good health effects right now. And I'm still probably going to have my (very small bottle) of ultra-cheap whiskey over the weekend, as I sit on a rooftop and watch the sun set on the mountains around Mandalay. But overall, I think this is much healthier.

I've never liked alcohol. I hate feeling sedated. I'd probably love coke or speed if I ever tried them. I love caffeine.

Once you've got used to the affordability, everything else will pale into insignificance. True bliss is having your own place that you can do what the fuck you want with, with noone else there.

Take it from me, with my artex cave complete with dungeon and hammer house themed living room.

Fuck pastels. Fuck live, laugh, love. And fuck those stupid heart things that dangle like they've been strangled.

I think I'm most looking forward to not finding fucking hair in everything.

To enjoy a meal without flossing during will be simply heavenly.

So it was a mutual amicable divorce then?
