I am trying to swap the prepayment meter out for a credit one. I have to use Scottish power as it's their meter. After that, I can change to whoever, but just try getting the absolute wankers to get it swapped. It's like trying to punch through steel.

Their system is so fucked, that they have ANOTHER system in place to issue £30 cheques for inconveniences when they inevitably completely fuck it up.

I asked them some basic confirmation questions as to when it will actually be confirmed that it's booked in but alas, that's a feature they overlook.

    Utter fucking shambles.

Have you tried taking a lump hammer to the meter. Tell them a large dog fell on it, then they can swap it once they come to fix it

They are indeed mate, keep (trying) putting our energy costs up per month. In 4 months we have gone from a dd of £135 approx to the kilt wearing ;) fuckers saying we have to pay £165 a month to be in the Black!

We will be swapping later this month.
You know it's simple maths right?

Your usage divided by 12 and if the payments you make a month don't equate to your actual usage then you'll have a shortfall. So either a large bill at the end of the year or bump your DD up to cover that shortfall over the coming months to save on the big bill.

I've just swapped from BG to BG because the tarif ended and although they quoted me at £80 a month and that's what the DD has been set to I know already it it won't stay there. Our usage is way over that so the DD will be increased.

Wish I was at the stage where I could argue about bills and savings. At the moment, I'm showing them a wheel and some fire.

Just had a case of wine delivered so I pointed at the box and said “nice, I was just getting thirsty” and the driver silently looked up at me from his handset like I was the biggest cunt who ever drew breath

His mother was also killed by a thirsty man. With a wine bottle. In Nice, France.

Got talking about top trumps with a fella at work today and how they were great as a kid. Joked about how daft it would be if they did a serial killer version. Quick google and found that they do! And right next to that search result was the below item. And yes it's what it looks like (a British nonces top trumps)

So I had a McDonald’s coffee today and it was surprisingly good. Not great, but certainly passable.

Not sure if they’ve got better or I was just still hung over.

Ive got nothing. In my defence I was in rag order, anything hot and sweet was getting appreciated. Have to try one again sober.

McDonald's coffee is fine now. Heck, most fast food places do reasonable coffee because the machines that make it are pretty consistent. It's no longer some low-cost instant stuff chucked in a cup, it's ground coffee made by a robot. Sure, no bells and whistles but if you just want a quick Latte or something, they do the job.

Tea on the other hand is a lottery. Stop drowning it with milk, I said a dash FFS!

Why are you paying obscene amounts for hot water?

Generally I don't tbh, as I'm a picky fucker who likes nice tea, not the stuff often served in (admittedly) coffee shops etc. But occasionally I like to have one if out and about and am invariably disappointed.

    Yorkshire or M&S Gold currently.

The machines made for coffee just don't get the water hot enough. Maybe it's for safety reasons, but it isn't hot enough to properly release the flavour from the tea. I did try the Tassimo tea pods and to be fair they were a close approximation of tea, but I wouldn't buy them again as proper boiling water and a teabag still gets better results.

I thought it was the brew duration as opposed to the temperature of the water?

    Interesting.

Bit of both really. Duration is important, but in places where they just dispense water into a cup for you and stick a teabag in, you'll generally find it won't be hot enough even if you leave it for ages. Also, it really depends on the tea. Some teas need the water as hot as you can manage, others need it quite hot but not boiling.

Or drink it black. The superior form of tea.

More to this tea malarky than meets the eye. I normally just thow a bag in then beat the shit out of it with a teaspoon.

Me too. Just because I know I shouldn't doesn't stop me being tremendously lazy. Most of the time as long as it's mostly tea-like, it'll do.

Patience is the key thing I lack. I would probably drink tea more often if I had the patience to just let it brew for a bit first.
