Nah, Roger Reedpop just needed to power off the servers for a few hours, so he could divert more power to his cybernetic sex-gerbils.

After 15 years of office EG, it has finally become blocked at work.
    😢

@Armoured_Bear It’s been caught by our filters a couple of times over the years, but never for long. We had a few weeks of some utterly Nazi rules around 2015 that blocked almost everything but BBC News, but that was quickly revoked.

A few other times, EG has been briefly and erroneously flagged as a gambling site.

Kind of ironic that ecosse’s work put EG on the list.

I went to a 50th last night that ended up in a fist fight between father and son. His son was from a previous marriage and seemed to be winding him up all night about something.

The dad just saw red mist and fucking went for him. Ended up storming around the pub a bit later on screaming “Where is that cunt??!!”. Nice.

Been looking after a 6 year old all weekend.

    Girlfriends goddaughter.

    I'm getting a vascetomy.

How do you parents do this all the time? I'm knackered.

At six, it’s not long before they learn how to turn the tv on themselves and then your work is pretty much done.

Completely commandeered my pc, phone and the TV. Basically whatever me and the missus are using she has to take over.

Also can't play a game on her own, has to be watched. Does not stop talking either. I forgot how much energy you have at that age. Eats like a horse too.

Sometimes I think about having kids. This has been an excellent tonic.

What some parents appear not to understand is that you can say no.

Both before conception and after birth.

I find it easier not to let them on the house. I'll visit my nieces and nephews, but my home is my zone of calm.

Definitely don't let kids be ON the house. That's just cruel.

... yes, you can say no but then you have to fill the space in which you have said no in with something else. The something else is usually requires a lot more energy.

S'true. And to be honest, it's an uphill battle. We restrict YouTube use in particular. Virtually none till aged 8, only 30 mins a day since. But it's a fight every time.

Like so much of parenthood, it’s short term pain for long term gain. The more they have to find their own amusement away from a screen, the better they get at it.

We give him far too much screen time tv/YouTube but we also play and let him play for hours a day... and read about 8-10 books and take him out to the zoo basically once a week. But I swear to god, without tv/YouTube I will spend my life as a climbing frame or stuck playing the same game 1,000,000 times and I decided for my sanity to just give him brain dead time. I find that way I can be more engaged when I do spend time with him as well.

All kids are different. My eldest has alway needed entertaining. He's nearly 10 and he's rubbish at entertaining himself. Has never really played by himself, other than Lego or reading. Loves board games though. My 7 year old, no problems. Will disappear and play by herself for hours on end. Both have the same access to TV/games and to our time. Life is busy and sometimes you need that electronic babysitter.

Oh, I have no doubt that give it 2 years, he'll be spending much more time in his room. Told my wife just to keep chucking the big roll in there

Only of you let them completely commandeer your PC, phone and TV.

    @Salaman Only what?

I have no experience, just wanted to be nice to her.

If we look after her in future I will be a lot more restrictive.
