Woo hoo! As a result of my sponsored walk on Saturday, I'm gonna be pictured in the paper with the other walkers in The South Wales Echo, Barry Times or something and the Penarth times!

Linkage to pics? G'wan! It's a forum LAW that if you appear in the local paper you must provide linkage as proof, eh Nem?

I seem to recall that the South Wales Echo has a website somewhere.

I'm looking for that now but can only find links via portals or research bodies. Do they image directly online?

    seriously....?

    Yep.

Tony's having a 'garden party' at number 10 for people who have done 'good work for the community' in the last 12 months. My dad worked at the recently deceased Selby Coalfield as a mechanic and did lots and lots of unpaid toil helping miners to retrain into other jobs. Our local MP called over Christmas to ask him if he fancied a nice trip down to number 10 for tea with the grin-meister and his 'lovely' wife.

I'm hoping he makes the Queen's birthday honours list next. :-)

I'm assuming it will consist of hand shake, maybe some certificate and that's it. Hope for Blerk's pa that I'm wrong though.

It's a 'garden party' style thing, although probably not outside, judging by the weather. There's food and drink, and the whole thing lasts about three hours iirc.

And yes, I'm sure he would prefer to get paid. :-)

Ahhh. But I would allow my telepathic symbiant to reach past the grin and reveal the truth! I would only need a second....

On a slightly related note, I have to go out and take photos for a book tomorrow. Trouble is, the subject matter is a bit of a problem, as the book is about social issues and I've no idea where to begin.

Any in particular? What do you want from the book?

I didn't quite get that Ruby.
What do you mean social issues?
Like social gathering? The Lion's club ladies meet for tea type thing? Or on social issues as in "Chav families go make a racket whilst shopping in Ikea".

Grafitti, vandalism, car crime, government, money that kind of thing I guess. Any specific thing about social issues?

Major ones are autism, school bullying, housing...etc.... anything more specific?

Urban decay. Find a dodgy estate with lots of white vans and abandoned cars.

Well, the author told me "Asylum seekers, slums, markets, juxtapositions of rich and poor, anything", which isn't a mean feat in London, but I have to go out on my own to do this, so I really don't want to ask some down and out for his photo. Also, social issues covers things like estate redevelopment, so fack knows how I capture that.

Oh bollocks, sorry Max, I just hijacked your thread. Maybe I should start a new one :/

Cardboard city was always good for a photo. They expect payment tho and I would not go down in the evenings unless I was in a group of 5 or more.
