Registered 5 years agoOoo had my first ever complete hard lock on my PS3 playing this last night. It froze and wouldn't even reset with power button. Had to reluctantly unplug which then leads to possible corrupt files so has to do a HDD scan. -

Registered 5 years agoDone well in the Ark Falls though, I came third twice and got my name high up the leader board. I dont know why I didn't choose my psn i.d. For my name! Instead if you PS3 chaps see a Maximus Desimus, that's me. -
Once gripe: when healing, the name above the player bars is the gamertag/(and I presume) PSN ID etc. NOT the character name. Annoying. -

Agree, enjoying the story and development of the characters. The toughest story mission so far was holding a platform while 99ers attack you from both sides and from below, and you have nowhere to go.That took some major dodging and a couple of deaths to get through. It is nice to finally have a challenge in these types of games.
One shock I did have was when I was sniping down into an enemy base from a 200 foot high vantage point.I just expected the AI to sit and take it.No.
two guys worked their way up the hill on my right flank and behind me. -

Registered 12 years agoI really hate that youtube first 20 minutes playthrough thing posted earlier in the thread saying the AI is crap. You can clearly tell they just toned down aggros and AI stuff for the tutorial.
I did a base last night and it was really hard, with enemies, flanking and taking cover and stuff. -
The AI does surprise me sometimes. There are enemies with simplistic behaviour there of course, but the smart guys are good at getting the drop on you. I'm sure we've all had our share of Jurassic Park style "clever girl!" moments so far -

Registered 16 years agoMy first encounter with Dark Matter showed their AI was pretty good, I only just managed to finish that mission. -
I've not had AI being that great. More they just do a lot of damage - which I like. -

Registered 5 years agoI'm quite powered up now and can take on an Ark Fall on my own, although that's a bit silly. But I'm still having to retreat now and then with the impressive AI. -
You can take an Arkfall by yourself cos the enemies won't have scaled ;p -

My first Dark Matter fight involved the troops hanging back in cover plinking me with gun fire while they let the Bulwark engage me up close. As it was the first time ever encountering a big combat robot it came as a shock.

Registered 7 years agoThe 99ers hung back EMP striked me so I lost all HUD then jumped me on that platform mission. And those little guys running in spewing fire.
I am having to think in these battles rather than get through Rambo style.
Think,dodge,cloak,attack. -

Registered 16 years agoWell I decided to get it after reading all the good vibes here (360 version seemed more logical than PC for this type of game). Looking forward to diving in. -

Registered 16 years agoI have a pretty good PC... but I usually prefer shooters on my 360 and more traditional MMOs, MOBAs and RTS games on my PC. So I guess Defiance will get more time from the couch.

Registered 5 years agoDefinitely a game for the couch what with all the lovely loot to tinker with, but also some edge of the sofa moments. -

Registered 7 years agoI also like the challenge, though it can sometimes get frustrating. Guess you just have to get used to it after so many games make you a godlike Rambo pretty early on. (Not saying Defiance is in any way realistic in that regard.)
And again I am bumping the request for PS3 EGers to speak out here and get your PSN IDs on here.
Some of us have already friended up, though I haven't managed to play with the others yet. Possibly on the weekend, Staffy / CptSupermarket/ the lot? -

Registered 5 years agoJust unlocked contracts. How the /hell/(bug) are you supposed to find out where the areas are on the map? Looking for delta bunker and haven't the bloody foggiest as it's not labelled on the map. -

Registered 5 years agoCan I just say: the opening title music is fucking fab. -
I was just saying recently on the official that I really love the music, especially the Defiance theme. That title music in particular has a little bit of all the styles of music that are in the game. -

Registered 8 years agoThis seems to be getting some great feedback (in this thread anyway). I've been looking for something to sink my teeth into for a while now and think this could fit the bill. Is PC version vs 360 a no brainer? -
I'm enjoying the game but a little confused. I don't see anyone using the chat box at all, and I haven't heard anyone on mic. Hope it changes soon, I like the feeling of the world but sometimes you forget it's a multiplayer game.
