I can't find my old thread

Search seems very good at not finding anything (Why does it give relevance scores, I want it to have all the words I specify in the thread?) and with FireFox it seems to not allow you to see results beyond the first 30 as it just takes you back to the normal forum. (I'm sure I called it 'You're Back?' which should have helped when I searched for that)

Aanyway, I was going to bump my last thread for a status update (in the event anyone has noticed my continued absence): I've got somewhere to live, NTL are the worst company in the world, internet will be up for Feburary (ish). \o/ (kinda, stupid wait for installation).

Time to get back to work :(

Only page 1 of the search results works. I searched for something earlier and it came back with 4 pages worth. Clicking on page 2 or next took you back to the normal forum.

For historical stuff I use Google with site:eurogamer.net in the search term.

Bah, I was just about to post that. Found using google, but only after I realised it was probably "you were gone?" rather than "you're back?" ;P

Remembered the real thread name just as I got to the pub after work and lo and behold, the EG search finds it the one and only.

Anyway, got to get me one of those new Nokia fold open PDA/phones (Communicators?) what has built in WiFi. I'll be there, wandering around looking for unsecured points to leach off.

I suppose you could create a short code like TrUq and bracket it in HTML tags, so it isn't visible, when you start a new thread.

Then you could just drop the code into the search engine and see if it spits it back and keep track of your threads like that.

Edit: It does work. Even better, the forum devours the tagged out code, so it wouldn't be visible to anyone but yourself. If you do a search for TrUq in greater than and less than tags you will only see this thread.
