Just wondered if there trade in app is accurate ?

I traded in Aliens at my local one the other day, so I presume so. That was towards another purchase, not sure of they are still giving cash or not. I got the same trade in price as the app gave me.

My local won't take trade-ins, but then it's one of the branches they are getting rid of.

They are giving 30% off marked prices on Pre-owned games atm.

The one I traded at is not shutting, so obviously just depends on your local stores situation.

Actually, I can still get brand-new copies of some of their pre-owned games cheaper from elsewhere, even with the 30% off. Small wonder they're still trading really

I'll be sad to see my local shut though, one less place to get games from if i have a spur of the moment desire to buy something, and it'll be harder to play other retailers off one another when price-matching. They've also offered me good trade in values in the past. Shame really.

@Syrette If you have a smart phone they have an app that can give you trade in prices, it's called 'hmv re/play'.

The 'GAME' app also has the same function if you want to compare the two.

Hmv tend to be on the generous side of trading in compared to game.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I'd already tried the HMV app - it just gets stuck on a loading screen though. I'm not sure if it's still actually working (in which case they should remove it from app stores).

As far as I'm aware, it's in store only to check prices.

They were offering £22 quid for Last Of Us last week in Glasgow, so seems to be quite reasonable.

Just rang up HMV Trafford Centre(Owing to the article on front page)

They said they have 50% off yellow sticker items (PreOwned) so i'm going to see if i can nab some PS4 games on the cheap at lunch!
