Just out of curiosity, as Peej mentioned forming an EG band in Slurpy's thread...

What do people play and where are they located?

    Might be feasible.
    Maybe.

Boo - Drums - North London

Use a VOIP package and you can do a cyber jam session.

heh, actually that might not be a bad idea - with the lag and general VOIP silliness we'd sound like a techno outfit!

I thought we'd already formed the Boston Yeagles?
It had about 30 guitarists, Peej & I on bass & various drummers & pianists.

Bass, guitar & backing vox - Cheshire

We've just been booked for a wedding in Darlington.
Do they not have covers bands in the North East?

Acoustic guitar, West London. I can sing a bit too, although more in the style of Nick Cave, I can do a pretty good Sonics rendition too.

Actually if you could learn to play the kazzoo and some castenets that would be cool.

Bloody hell, I knew you'd say that! Scary. I don't like saxophones in pop/rock music, they almost always get abused by crappy, schmaltzy stuff like this. Jazz is where it's at.

I never realised quite how loud an instrument it is until someone plays it right in front of you, it's quite scary!

tobz, so you are the all around utility man then? ;)

Quite true, the only place it works at the moment in rock is the Zutons who seem to effectively use a sax player on every track. Although she is quite fit from about fifteen feet away and the closer one gets the more she looks like a bloke, it's quite weird.

Dream Theater use a sax nicely in 'Another Day' off of Images & Words...it can be done...sometimes. They use a fusion guy off the GRP label and by some miracle it fits really well with their progressive thrash sound.

Fishbone used sax and brass really well in a ska/ hardcore funk setting. The Police had loads of great sax in their stuff.

YES! I've noticed this as well. I saw them on Jools Holland & at first thought "Hello!" then on closer inspection thought "Nadia?".
    Good album though.

Ayrshire. Drums (a bit like Steve White/Dave Abbruzezzezzezzeze but not as good).

I do some drum tracks for my mates, they send me good quality wavs, I drop them in Cakewalk and write a drum track to go with it with an excellent 60 meg drum soundfont I found. Internet Bands sometimes work. My last one only went titsup cos the other folks were dumb and kept sending me tapes in the post "Yeah thanks, really helpful".

My girlfriend even noticed it too.

It is a good album, one of the better albums of last year I think.
