After missing the last expansion I thought I'd give un'goro a go. What the hell with the pricing and no adventures. It's like they want the game to fail. They are literally asking you to pay well over a hundred quid a year to enjoy the game, while gambling on RNG.

I have every card back available through the monthly rank 20 scheme, but at this point I'm not sure if there'll be much point going forward.

Yep, that's a complaint that a lot of people have now that the prices have increased, coupled with the incredibly low open rates on legendary and epics and their requirements in competitive decks, it's very hard to continue justifying playing the game.

However, I'm not too unhappy right now as I got the 50 pack preorder using Amazon Coins which cost around £19, coupled with saving 4k gold and getting the free dust I've been able to amass a pretty good collection this expansion.

I would say if you are struggling to put a deck together, wait a week or two before crafting anything as it's going to take a while before the meta settles enough to figure out what's good and what's not.

Quest Rogue is definitely the most boring deck to play against I think I've ever seen.

Edit: Jesus, the mage one too. You're not actually playing against your opponent.

    @Duffking

Exactly. Both are games of solitaire. What a horrific idea these legendary quests are.

I've got to say, I've honestly been having a blast with this expansion so far. They seem to have done a pretty good job of making previously released cards viable, especially cards which were considered to be utterly shit (Purify, Gadgetzan Ferryman).

Most of what I have been playing has been without the quests too, so I wouldn't say that they are essential to continue playing the game. Some of the are working (Rogue and Warrior) but others just aren't good enough (sorry Rexxar).

I've uploaded the decklists that I've been enjoying if anybody is interested in taking a look. Inner Fire/Purify Priest is especially good fun and actually viable!

I mean, that's not necessarily a good thing. Stonetusk boar is viable now ;) I'm gonna wait a few days and see what it's like after it settles down, 8 out of the 10 games I played today were against quest mage/rogue.

Dungeon Run is awesome. The most moreish single player content they've probably ever had

I don't regret quitting this game tbh.

It was just far too addictive.

Dungeon run is loads of fun!

getting deathrattles trigger twice and the summon 7 boom bots spell at the same time is amazing.

    Next expansion announced:

Sure looks like it's going to mix things up a bit with new card functions, and some novelty effects.

Weird thing just happened - playing Arena, in the second game. I had my opponent on the ropes, his hero had 8 health left and I had way more than 8 attack points on my minions. Basically he's toast on my next turn. Then the game disconnects, I get a message about "reconnecting", and suddenly his hero is up to 25 health, he has three more minions on the board than before the disconnect, and two or three of my minions have disappeared. I also seem to be missing cards out of my hand. A few rounds later I've lost the game. Is that just a "bug", or is there a way people can cheat? I thought with everything server-side cheating is impossible?

How is the game thesedays? Still full of cheesy combo insta kill decks?

Such a shame. Could have been a proper strategic game.

I'm only the most casual of casual players, just dip in and out when I've got nothing better to do. I never really got in to the whole 'meta game' thing.

Not sure if there many other 'Stoners on here, but I believe the last day for the Boomsday pre-order is this Saturday, with release next Tueaday.

@rudedudejude I dip in and out, but won't pay any more. Have 2.5k gold to burn on new cards though

Well I already played Hearthstone for a while now but the card grind is really hard. It's not that easy to get good cards and that means you have to stick with a bad deck for quite some time. Any recommendation or tips?

@poisonknight Recommendations for what decks to play, or recommendations for hwo to get more/better cards?

For decks to play, Hunter or Zoo Warlock are generally the best bets for good, budget decks. If you wanted something interesting to play, you could currently do worse than crafting Wizzbang the Wonderful. You put him as the only card in your deck and when the game starts, you play a random deck recipe for a random class (18 possibilities, two for each class).

If you want to know the best way to get more cards than there are two simple answers. Either do Arena and get good enough to average four or more wins each arena run, or fire up Mr. Credit Card and buy as many packs as you can afford.

The best cheap deck is currently Heal Zoo. You only need one legendary card, and it's a tier 1 deck. Between 20-25% of the ladder is variations of that deck at the moment.

Whizbang is a fun card, and gets you a variety of decks to play, but they're not all competitive, and you have to have a fairly extensive knowledge of the game / study the decks since you need to be able to play all 18 decks.

One tip to make your life easier: if you have two devices that can run HS, make an alt account, and play against yourself to complete quests quickly. I generally play a self-harming Warlock with Flame Imps and such. Just play all of those and Soul Fire yourself in the face, and concede at 15 health (usually on turn three), takes a minute or two to complete your quest(s). Then you can spend your time playing decks you enjoy and actually have cards for, while accumulating gold for card packs.

Gwent's not really worth playing atm. They completely took apart what was good about it to the point where they've basically stopped releasing updates for 6+ months while they work out how to get it back to a good state again.

    Anyone else still playing this?

New expansion coming out today, with the first new class: Demon Hunter.

You get the classic and basic cards for the Hero for free by playing the story Prologue.

Also, if you've been away longer, you get a full deck of your choice for free. Rogue and Mage are probably the best ones. They also revamped the ladder system, but whether that's a good or a bad thing for new / returning players I genuinely can't say.

I expect the ranked ladder to be about 90%+ Demon Hunter at first...

Edit: forgot the best change! They've added duplicate protection to all card rarities. So no more getting five of some useless Epic can and none of the good ones.
