I usually watch this (and shout for Cambridge), but this year I'm going to have to yell for the dark Blues.

My nephew's in the Oxford boat! And at 6' 10", he's the tallest guy ever to row in the race.

Go Oxford!

Not sure anyone outside of Oxford/Cambridge cares about it. Bit puzzled as to why it gets a pretty huge billing.

Its seen as those quintessentially British things thay housewives love, despite every boat in living memory being crewed by Canadians.

Also, even people in oxford dont care about it.

I agree with them to a certain extent. The bloke is an arsehole and he had a prejudiced view of high society. Six months is a piss take, though.

IMO the Boat Race is a good sporting event. I just wish it would include all other Universities, so it's a bit like University Challenge, and the best two teams at the end of the season can race instead of the same ones each year.
