Looks like a nice blend of Android and WP, I like. Still will have to wait and see as I'm very much converting to Android.

Not sure what you mean. I have access to the beta program through work so can register a device with that program - hence gaining access to it.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Cheers.

The betas for IOS have always been amazingly stable. I used to get access to them too until the cunts laid me off.

But, regardless, it does look like a step forward and I cant *wait* to get shut of my S3.

I think putting a beta on your primary phone is utterly crackers. Same goes for OSX. Fine if you're putting either on a second phone/computer purely for fun though.

It certainly shows a lot of promise and I think they're heading the right way. I do recall some of the earlier betas of IOS5 enjoying some pretty impressive speed increases in speed before reaching RC.

I think though, the bottom line is that this OS is doing much more and is therefore much more hardware intensive, in a similar albeit starker way to IOS5. The 'true multitasking' alone will leverage more RAM requirements than ever before and the transparencies won't be cheap either.

Just realised, does this true multitasking mean that we will finally get RSS readers which update automatically by themselves?

because that would seal my move back to iphone

    RSS is dead, man.

Yes, that's exactly what it does. Same for email, Facebook etc. you get the notification or it recognises when you like to check things and updates for then in the background.

I love RSS. And yes, they specifically mentione apps updating in the background.

This is something I personally think can't come soon enough; I'm really tired of opening the calendar and having to wait 30 seconds for everything to update.

They are even doing it for the new OS X version. Close the lid of your laptop and it will still update emails, tweets and facebook while the machine is supposedly 'asleep'.

    1) I like the sound of a Pad to make it a proper portable gaming machine. Still, that'll only be as good as the user uptake on buying it.

    2) Multitasking - I wonder how this will impact on music apps? Will you be able to use something like Cubasis and run other apps as VSTi's? Would be much more useful than Audiobus.

On my IP5 now and wow! Yer that's an impressive update. Multitasking actually is multi-tasking, i.e. double-tap home whilst in the camera and witness the marvel as you slide through applications with the camera view updating live. OMGZOMg! :)

Liking it. Quite a lot. There's no denying a certain 'familiarity' of some of the features and even the typefaces chosen. It sits somewhere between Jellybean, Windows Phone 7/8 and Blackberry but kind of still retains the fluidity and solidity that none of those exhibit.

In short, Apple has nicked features and done it right. ;)

Not being funny, but apart from a screenshot of whatever state each app was/is in when you left it last, what does the new app-switching view do that the old one didn't, functionally-wise?

ie: how is it more of a multi-tasker in iOS7, than it is a fast app-switcher in iOS 6?
Not being funny, but I told you ...

..witness the marvel as you slide through applications with the camera view updating live.

Out ofd interest, what difference would that make to you, unless you put notifications on for updated RSS feeds, which personally would be the most incessantly annoying thing ever.

What I'm saying is that when I feel like reading some rss feeds I open Reeder and seconds later there they are.
Well i usually read my feeds on the tube / train on the way to work. I find my 3G signal is often slow or cuts in and out, or just dissapaears at certain stations. Or when you get on a plane or something, its nice to have all your feeds up to date without worrying about it.

So i'll leave work today, and be able to read all my feeds at the gym in between sets where there is also no reception.

@THFourteen D'oh, of course, hadn't considered that. So especially with a wifi-only iPad, you'd be able to just fire up Reeder or Zite or whatever on the tube and it synced automatically at home when it was on wifi. Cool :)
Actually on Android there is an even better app called RSSDemon. It goes one step further so not only autmoates the downloads at scheduled intervals, it will fetch the full article text from sites where they dont provide full text as defualt in RSS

Anyone tried this on an ipad mini yet?

..looks like, should you be able to find the IO7 IPSW for your iPhone, you can bypass Developer activation by using Shift+Update to choose it from your HDD.

    Go get it! :)

I don't want you to explode bob but the tiny clock icon shows the correct time and the second hand moves around in real time.
