Registered 15 years agoI'm sure it's going to be a right mess of iOS7 icons/apps and non-iOS7 icons/apps, just like the retina update. -

Battery life is barely any different to before.
They do it with products but rarely with an OS, for some reason.
And, to the brave souls who have installed it, what's the battery life like? -

Registered 16 years agoOk. Cool. Previous betas have been battery molesters which is why I've been hanging back.
Although, having said that, if it knackered the my little pony game my life wouldn't be worth living. -

Registered 19 years agoCan't go back to ios6 ? What about new betas can we add those not been a developer ? -

Do that. £6 or so and you get them all as they arrive with no problems. -

Registered 15 years agoDon't do that. Download the torrent yourself and install it. Don't pay some chump £6.
It beyond easy to do and I've had it on for a couple of days now and not one crash.
If they release a Beta 2 then just do the same again. Download and install.
You don't need a Dev ID.

Thing is they're right. These dev things have gone off rails now that every snot faced cunt bag with a blog cinsiders himself a Tech Blogger.
Supercilious article on TUAW today saying, don't install an iOS beta if you're not a developer, unless you don't mind having an unreliable device that could crash at any time, for the next three months, as apparently they're seeing a lot of emails whining that iOS 7 is a bugfest and indicative of Apple's lack of care and attention in software development blah blah, so just don't do it.
People who really shouldn't be wasting space at Google I/O, WWDC etc now hog tickets and go "Oh My Fucking God this piece of shit feels completely BETA"
The fact that Google ruined the term beta and made it mean "Cool service for the invited" instead of "unfinished buggy piece of code" doesn't help.
So yeah, by all means. Do get iOS7 now. Just don't complain if it crashes. -
Tickets to WWDC 2013 sold out in 71 seconds this year. That's mental.
Anyways, installed the beta this morning. It's a lot nicer in person. I don't think the screenshots do it any favours. -

Registered 16 years agoReckon anyone will build a snap-in controller for the ipad mini?
I'm envisioning something like the razer project fiona handlebar things.
That would seriously be amazing for me, i dont normally bother with half the games i want to play on iOS because i cant be bothered with virtual sticks. -
Gonna have to roll back.
I can no longer send iMessages.
The podcast apps just hangs on a black screen so I can't listen to any. - Hate that they took podcast out of the music app in the first place.
Multitasking is slow and buggy.
My earphone controls only work intermittently.
Videos won't rotate to landscape.
Other than all of that I love it. Obvs it's a beta so I'm not worried but it's too early to use it permanently. -

Registered 19 years agoOn the flipside, my IP5 is running beautifully with it (bar the odd Springboard restart). In fact I'd feel like I'd flung myself back into the dark ages if I reverted.
You on a 4/4S HA? -
I'm on a 5 bob. -
The podcast apps works fine the first time if I reinstall but crashes after that. Reports of it happening to others are all over the Apple forums. -
Odd, seen none of those issues. Not sure why you're using the apple podcast app anyway as its so shit. -
What's the alternative? -

Registered 19 years agoThat is indeed odd. The multitasking / switching works flawlessly so far. I wonder if you need a clean/blank IO6 -> IOS7 install.
Anyway - as you say, it is a beta. There's usually a few beta updates before the RC and RTM get released so substantial improvements / changes are inevitable. -
The multitasking works just about it's just when I slide an app up, it gets 3/4 of the way there, very slowly, and then stops. It eventually disappears but it's far from silly smooth.
Bob, what do you mean about 6>7? I went from the previous most recent straight to the beta using a downloaded ipsw file. -

I don't think they've finished with them yet so they should get better before final release. -
