So does the Reduce Motion option mentioned in Tonka's link help with performance? I haven't updated our devices yet, but as they're an iPhone 4S and an iPad 2 I'm reluctant if they're going to be slow as shite :-)

The long hold pop up menus look appalling.

A few of those were in 6 as well.

The best thing about iOS7 for me is the frequent locations in Notification Centre.

It's pretty good - just two things for me stand out for now, which I guess they're never going to address

Max of 20 icons per page
Can't toggle 3G in the control centre.

It's not slow, it runs great on my 4S.
I'm rather happy about it, I think it looks great.

Yep, it's as fast as 6 ever was on my 4S. No judder or slowdown when flicking between things.

There's moans about the new look every time there's an update, takes about 10 minutes to adjust to it then you look at the old version on someone else's phone and it looks pony.

CAn anyone just list 3 or 4 of the best new features? I've seen it looks different but I'm crap at noticing what the actual changes are

Reduce Motion just stops backgrounds and icons wobbling about like those 3DS puzzle games when you tilt the phone about I think.

Updating the iPad now, it's going a hell of a lot quicker than last night did. About 7 minutes.

It's really good actually, I'd recommend anyone with a 4S to go for it. Performance is same as before and after a short time adjusting to the look my iPad looked laughably dated in comparison.

I tried updating my ipad last night it just constantly gave up so I tried it first thing this morning and within 40 minutes all done.

Yeah it does a bit. Just with everything pretty much working as I'm used to it working, so best if both worlds.

If the official update channel is still swamped you can always download the Gold Master version from Mega and update your device manually:

I hate it. It's fucking hideous. They've removed podcasts from Music, for no fucking reason. I can't find any way to get a list of the day's events back on Calendar, or on my notifications panel which will only show my next event and/or the next 7 hours of the day. The only improvements I can see are the Control Centre and that the utterly useless Newsstand can now be dumped in a folder. Everything else is either taken out, made worse or just broken.

@Zomoniac Downcast is a really good podcast manager -- I'd use it over the official podcast/music app any day.

    I'm on a 4 and iPad 2, don't think I'll bother.
I'm also getting a 5S and new iPad, so will just wait a bit :)

Problem is the Nike+ app pulls its sources from the music app, so I can no longer listen to podcasts through Nike+.

This reduce motion option confused me. Am I right in thinking that my icons and tiles should float or move about then as this doesn't happen on either my ipad Mini or 4s with 7 installed. I can't actually see any difference at all if reduce motion is either on or off.

@Zomoniac new update for the Nike+ app today, does that fix it?

I believe it just relates to the parallax depth wallpaper effect. As you move the device the backdrop should be changing perspective, unless you set Reduce Motion to OFF.

Re above: just thinking that the motion stuff is probably only effective in the 5 hardware as I'm sure I'm correct in thinking it isn't built into the ipad or 4/4s.
