Absolutely, Awesome. Some step up from my 30 euro Philips phones. Problem is now that my 128 bitrate songs sound terrible. |

Registered 20 years agoYeah, that's the problem with these consumer cans. The bass response is too strong and doesn't tend to be linear. 'Reccommended use: Professional audio system' my arse. -

Registered 18 years agoAre you using them with a MP3 player? Apart from the heavy bass, are they a good set of cans? Thinking of getting some, am torn between getting these or spending a bit more and getting MDR 700 or Seinheiser Hd25? Obviously there is about £50-60 difference, so I am interested in what you think. I will be using them for iPod and TV.

Registered 18 years agoMy cousin owns the 700s, which is what convinced me to move to their little brothers. He even admits himself that the sound difference is quite minimal when compared to the difference in price.
I'm currently using these on both my laptop and my Technics stereo system; RE4 sounds unbelievable when played through these.
I've also used these on a friend's Minidisc player..And they're well suited, I can tell you that

I have the 700's. The difference in sound may not be very big, but the build quality is. The 500's feel cheap, dinky and fragile compared to the 700's. The HD25's are also fantastic, but I've always found the cups too small. A bit uncomfortable. The plus for the HD25's are of course that EVERYTHING is replaceable on them... Hehe.
Cheers matey. It's a toughie, I won't be using these as monitor phones, so they are basically just for watching a bit of TV at night when the missus has gone to bed... Babecast sounds so much better on headphones... and a bit of gaming. So I'm not to worried about whether they are up to much 'real' work.
The seinhesiers I'm guessing are a lot better though? Sound wise?

Interesting. Cheers matey.
