What a quality title this is - one worthy of it's very own thread :-)

Digital only isn't ideal but at least it's a reasonable price on the eshop at 24.99 and remember it's a boxed game outside of Europe.

    Original trailer:

This CGR review sold me on the game (described within as a '2D side scrolling hack and slash beat 'em up adventure game' to which 'RPG' is a glaring omission):

Lots of bite sized levels to replay and beat your times, loot to collect and you can play as a massive assortment of very different characters. No need to even worry about the naff story; the game itself is just so much fun.

Oh, and the original Guardian Heroes team worked on it apparently if that helps sway your decision :p

Definitely eyeing this one, though I got a bit too much to get through atm. But once I'm done with em, I think I'll give this a go :p

Had my eye on this since it was first announced as it looked a lot like GH. I was hoping it would get a boxed retail release with a book and soundtrack like in other regions but still glad it managed to actually get an EU release, albeit on the eshop. Will defo pick this up when my XL arrives.

What are the multi-player modes like? Or is this more a single player experience?

I'm enjoying it as single player; I have no intentions of trying out the MP really, but I'd guess it's co-operative?

I can pop on tonight and see if there are many people on but I expect it to be very quiet :-(

At least there's an option to play online. You can always organise things on here.

This is a bit good, isn't it? ;-)

I've only just found the additional quests, and love the 5-minute missions. Sister Hel is definitely my favourite character so far, she's awesome.

Indeed, this game is great and the characters are a big reason for that. Code of Princess understands that it is just isn't as satisfying to whack people around in brawlers if the characters aren't charismatic with good animation.

I really like how instead of simply continuing the same beat 'em up traditions, it thinks about how to advance them at the same time as preserving what everyone liked about those games.

Must admit I hadn't paid any attention to this but having watched a few reviews and the general positivity, I'm quite interested. Shame there isn't a demo available but will pick it up when I get paid at the end of the month.
