Ahh Terrorism. You know that the third commandement of Al-Qaeda is to remove all litter bins from the western world. They are actually very successful in their continued campaign. I can't believe we are folding! |

Registered 14 years agoTalking of lax security. When I was 16, I think this was after 9/11, I had a bb gun I bought at a french market in my hand luggage and no one said anything st Charles De Gaulle. -

Registered 11 years agoBit confused by people saying the security is bullshit and hasn't stopped an attack. surely it was in direct response to an attack and has stopped them doing it again. so now they can't stick a bomb in a shoe, or make a liquid bomb because of all the bullshit we have with the liquids.
Surely if it stops a repeat of two prior (attempted) attacks that's got to be better than a kick in the tits. Or am I missing something? -

Registered 11 years agoApparently the White House declaring this a terrorist act this afternoon is incredibly significant, but for obvious reasons it's going to be a few days before any concrete information begins to reach the press while lines of investigation of throughly followed up.
Kind of suggests the authorities might know more than they are telling us for the time being. Which is positive in a way. -

They carried out a search at an apartment, so you're probably right. Might not be wanting to say too much since the person (presumably) hasn't been apprehended yet.

Apparently the bombs were inside 6 litre pressure cookers, which were hidden inside large duffel bags, according to the BBC last night. -

Registered 8 years agoProbably not related to this, but have we done the letters? One sent to a Senator with ricin in and now one sent to Obama with a "suspicious substance". Reminds me of the anthrax ones just after 9/11. Speaking of which, was anyone ever arrested for that? -

Registered 12 years agoCNN is reporting that they have a suspect. Based on a "source" but supposedly they'll say more later today.
Apparently there's video of the person leaving the bombs. -

How would that help? You'd just stand out more.
Every now and then there's a fugitive or runaway couple who decide to hoof it to the remote Scottish Highlands and hide out in a B&B. They last a few hours before everyone clocks them. -

Don't know if this one will be getting out in anything other than a body bag, though. -

Registered 16 years agoI'd plan a move aboard beforehand. New life. Have all my colleagues give me a farewell party. Book the plane for a few hours after I have planted the bomb.
Basically move to Thailand under the pretence of teaching English, but actually get a sex change and fuck tourists. That'd show 'em. -
Wow. Squeaky bum time for that CNN journalist.
