Hi folks, Just a few simple questions for you. Do you miss the good old RPGs like Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Ultima VII or...Divine Divinity? Do you like huge immersive worlds with a lot of to explore and discover? Do you like to play alone but sometimes also with a friend? Then I got something really interesting for you here ![]() http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/larianstudios/divinity-original-sin Divinity: Original Sin features: - Isometric cRPG - Single player mode or cooperative multiplayer mode (e.g. like in BG or NWN) - Revolutionary cooperative dialog system - Highly reactive world - Deep character development system - Plenty of choice and consequence - Powerful RPG editor to create your own RPG adventures and share or play them with friends - Very tactical turn-based combat featuring: skill and spell combos, attacks of opportunity, action points and much more... - Exploration is greatly rewarded - Develop your character(s) to fit your playstyle using classless skill and stats system - Countless item interactions and item combinations I really can't find any other RPG scheduled for this year which looks at least remotely as good as D: OS. It's up to us - gamers, If we'll get a very good game, or if we'll push it to the limit and help talented, independent developers in order to allow them to make it almost perfect. So, please go and look at it, together we can make it. There's still 8 days left! Cheers! Registered 17 years agoWhat the hell? These Laria guys are from my hometown. Never heard of them until now. I was looking at some of the kick starter gifts and in the "fan day" and "launch party" sections I figured "fat lot of good that does you when it's somewhere over in the US".
If they have it locally I might stump up and go check it out. -

Even if you haven't played the other Divinity games and have no idea who these people are, go watch their KS video. This is some really impressive stuff.”
*Totalbiscuit interviews Swen Vincke “Totalbiscuit interviews Sven Vincke, head of Larian Studios on the topic of their two latest games unveiled at E3: Divinity - Dragon Commander, an RTS and Divinity - Original Sin, an RPG.”
*E3 2012 - Gameplay and Interview with David Walgrave “Manny had a chance to sit down with David Walgrave of Larian Studios to check out the latest installment of the Divinity story, Divinity: Original Sin”

Registered 8 years agoIt's going great, hope it'll endure,
BTW honestly I don't understand why there is more than 200 people at $28 tier and more than 500 people at $35 tier. At $40 tier you'll get a second copy of Divinity: Original Sin, another kickstarter potion and a soundtrack. Another copy for only 5 bucks is not attractive enough for those who are at $35 or what?
Everyone who is really looking forward to this great RPG should start at least at that tier.
Only 70 hours left..
Now come on everybody, let's jump at this crazy train together and get 800k stretch goal! -

Registered 18 years agoYou do realise spamming like this with brand new accounts is probably doing more harm that good, you're just going to irritate people.
On a more positive note Original Sin does look good, I've already backed it and it's been one of the more interesting KS campaigns to follow. I'm really looking forward to the game - it's Larian after all, and although Dragon Commander looks pretty awful they've made some excellent RPGs over the years and seem like a thoroughly decent bunch.
You'd be better off using the Kickstarter thread. -

They're less then a miles from my house.
I decided to jump in and back their kickstarter project although I' starting to regret it as I've since had 2 or 3 "kickstarter updates" per day.

Ermmm, the updates are kind of the point for you having pledged, they're basically telling you what's happening in the campaign as it's assumed you're an interested party.

Registered 14 years agoOriginally (ahem) posted this on the "Currently playing thread" and thought to recycle the post as this thread seems to have, sadly, gone dormant. First impressions are very positive.
I've spent a couple of hours with the Divinity: Original Sin alpha, generously granted to all their Kickstarter backers, and I quite like what I see. As an old-time Ultima fan, this is a real god-send.
The game looks stunning, gameplay feels very engaging and open-form. Little bugs abound, obviously, but I've yet to encounter anything game-breaking. The sort of quirky humour that's partly defined the series is still present, and the writing is good as well. Plus: no voice acting!
Very excited by this, and happy to have helped them get this far.
Can't wait for release. -

It is very good indeed.
They've added multiplayer as well.
Very happy to have backed this for 20 dollars now that they're charging 40 euros for it.
