Yeah I don't think I lockpicked that door, unless it was only a level 1. Can you not bash it? Otherwise there must be a key somewhere or another way in.

I had a key but lord knows where I got it from. Maybe from the butcher guy...

Same here. I remember agreeing to send my anonymised data to Larian when installed it, I guess that’s the culprit. I’ve not found an option to turn that off. :-/

Keep it. Same with the gloves from the starting area. Too good to give up.

Could kill her without having to give up the ring in the first place.

    Filthy magisters!

However by not helping her you wont get a useful key.

Is it wrong to cheese encounters by retreating into another room forcing a chokepoint where they intersect (is it cheesing?)? I don't think so as I am not happy with some of the encounters where the enemy springs up all around and launches an initial attack. I prefer to wage war on my terms not theirs.

End of chapter 1 boss is a challenge, think I need 1 more level and a bit more physical resist on a couple of bits of gear for it.

@MrWonderstuff It almost feels like a game that wants you to cheat and cheese it. Can't find a key to a door? Fuck it just break it down. Stuck on a maze puzzle? Fuck it just use a teleport spell to get to the end. Can't work out how to get the item you need from a character? Fuck it just kill them and take it off their corpse.

Ah well I'll continue with my strategy. This game also makes me feel a little thick with all the magic permutations there are - I am sure I am not using all the tricks in the book and not making the most of my party.

A little tip for cheesing, it is possible to ressurect someone out of the line of site of the enemy which gives that character time to heal up, they can then get a free action. I used this very thing by accident at the end of the first island. Saved my bacon too.

You have to be playing co-op to fight your partner in the arena I think.

    just saw this on reddit.

    this changes everything

Waypoints can be jumped to via the waypoints menu (anchor top-right OR esc->waypoints) FROM ANYWHERE.

I assumed this was common knowledge. Guess it's just my habit of pressing every button to find out what it does.

Anyway, I'm still loving this but have hardly played this week, big games like this all feel a bit much on a week night, but I'm hoping to get a lot of play in before Monday.

@Furtive_Pygmy do you mean you've already been to the dungeon of Fort Joy?

If you need to get to the level above, you can get the key on that level. You'll have to do a bit of fighting, then it'll probably be on the floor somewhere, hit alt to check.

edit: oh the thread took me to the wrong page, you're past it now
