cancelled my pre order yesterday, glad I did, this is getting panned across the board on metacritic (apart from the obvious fake 10's)

Registered 7 years agoI have a dodgy copy, which I played for a few hours last night. It's not the best game in the world, but it's passable. It's certainly one of the better film tie-ins I have played.
A lot was made of the co-op in it, however it seems mostly to stick to having to open doors and hack stuff together. The voice acting is decent and the plot seems serviceable enough. I'm not overly keen on the gun play though, which is a bit twitchy in parts and isn't that exciting.
If you like the film and lens flare though, you'll probably like the game. If it wasn't a a Star Trek brand game, it wouldn't do very well, but it might be more favourably looked upon because of the source material.
If, like me, you have a sort of passing interest in Star Trek then it's worrth a look. If not, it's probably best avoided. -
Giant Bomb didn't receive a review copy. Both Giant Bomb and Star Trek are owned by CBS...
I don't think confidence was high on this one. -

Registered 15 years agoMmm, I watched Giant Bomb's quick look last night and it really didn't seem terrible. Seriously lacking in polish and kinda boring maybe, but a reasonably competent third-person shooter. The animation is hilariously bad throughout though, and the Gorn enemies look like their textures haven't loaded in properly. Environments are quite nice though. -

I really fancy this on PC if it goes super cheap in the Steam Sale. I know it'll probably be average with a Trek skin, but I'm a bit more concerned about it being broken. Were those issues from a few posts above fixed? -
