Not at all. I think everyone should have a bit, once in a while. Imagine vizzini being allowed to edit all dirtbox's or richardiox's posts for example, or ecosse being allowed to remove negative view from the Wii U thread. Just for a day. And vice-versa. It'd be fun.

Fuck it - the temptation is too much: I'm buying a Wii U. -
Talking of karma +/-, look at this article's comments:
Game Dev Tycoon forces those who pirate the game to unwittingly fail from piracy
Some serious ranting in there. -

Registered 16 years agoThat story all seems a bit suspect to me. I couldn't find anyone actually complaining about getting stuck on the game, and searching for quotes from the purported forum posts turns up nothing (except people reporting the story of course).
A more cynical man might suggest it was all made up to promote their shitty game. -
Well spotted. That's the first thing that EG should have checked before publishing that press release verbatim. -

Registered 12 years agoThe comments sections of this website has gone on a downward spiral over the last few years, especially in recent months.
It seems that if one dares to question the general zeitgeist of any given article, they then get buried with negative feedback. Now would you agree with me that the whole point of a comments section is to have a reasonable and rational debate without resorting the ad hominem fallacy of negging commenters who dare go against the grain?
Scrapping this system would, in my opinion force people who disagree with somebody's comment to at least come up with some sort of opposing argument. Negging and burying comments ultimately suppresses free thinking and rational debate on this website, Or Perhaps i should remove this before it get's negged. -

Registered 12 years ago@RobTheBuilder The sad thing is I'm probably preaching to the converted; The forumites generally seem much more level headed, as well as better looking and financially successful if i do say so .gif)

Yeah you're preaching to the choir here. I think it brings in too much revenue to have any hope of it changing.

So basically it's for people who can't figure out how to find the best bit of EG.
So in summary, stay away from the front page. -
People do come up with opposing arguments. They use the reply system. It works. -
