    Are the books worth reading?

Yes, the first couple of books are excellent.

Watched the film last night. I thought it was average. You'll probably get more enjoyment out of it if you've not read the book. Some excellent visualizations and effects in there too.

I had a look and there seems to be roughly nine thousand Ender books. I thought it was just the two...

Just started the book and I have to say I'm quite enjoying it. Should OSC's dubious politics put me off reading his works or should I just read, enjoy and accept that he's a man of 'alternative' beliefs to mine?

Up to you, innit. I'd say in the case of Ender's Game and a few others the books are good enough to make you forget about the author being a gigantic bellend. His mentalism doesn't really leak out onto the page, there's nothing overtly crazy in anything I've read of his.

But then I've only read the main Ender's series so far. Perhaps he's done a spinoff called Ender's Game of Gay Bashing.

Watched this over the weekend and quite enjoyed. Think I'll be giving the books a go...but like others have stated I'm slightly overwhelmed by the sheer number of books!

Of the main series, only Ender's Game is essential. Pick that up first and if you enjoy it a lot try the next one in the series; just be warned that they're very different, the pacing is much slower and they can be a little hard going in places.

The Ender's Shadow spinoff is supposed to be closer to the first book.

Also watched this over the weekend. Seemed very rushed with no real explanation/evidence of why Ender was such a great commander. Looked nice though.
