Trying to get through the second season of castlevania.
Itís just too drawn out and talky so far (over halfway through and little action has been seen). Too many characters now and theyíve turned it into some kind of game of thrones power struggle crap (but without the rumpy pumpy). Iíve just started zoning out with it in the background, which makes keeping up with it even more challenging. Surely it kicks off at some point?

Monster Trucks 8/10 aimed at a younger audience it strummed along quite nicely, acting, characters, story, effects all fine, my 9 year old loved it.

'I Don't Feel At Home In This World Anymore' 6/10 an enjoyable crime caper with a couple of likeable leads and some suitably unsavoury baddies, a simple plot with a few twists and a nice bit of gore, a pleasant way to kill an hour and a half.

Bait, utterly absurd, bonkers story, some dodgy effects but fine for my 9 year old boy and me to pass some time, guessing who'll be the next victim and keeping a tab on the death toll! He'd probably give it 8/10 I'd give it a 4/10.

Anvil The Story of Anvil has snuck back on unannounced.

    It is the greatest.

If you're a Castlevania fan, you may want to hang in there for the last couple of episodes. There's a couple of scenes that are fantastic.

Just about to start episode 6 of "You", really enjoying it so far. Nice one for the recommendation.

I mentioned it in the rate-a-film thread, but The Ballad of Buster Scruggs is rather good. Everything there is to like about the Coens, distilled into little chunks. It's violent, funny, and so very dark in places.

Seems to have been overlooked but You is really quite excellent.
Finished watching this at weekend with the gf. We flew through it and both enjoyed it. Any times I was worried it was gonna get too lovey dovey it wasn't long until shit hit the fan again. Main actor was really good.

Buster Scruggs was quite fun, I like the vignette style means I can pick up later if I feel like it

Just had Netflix added to my Sky and started with Season 1 of Star Trek Discovery, 9 episodes in and it's ok. Hasn't really hooked me but I will stick with it. Thinking of trying Altered Carbon next, is it anygood?

@IronGiant - Re Altered Carbon - I enjoyed it, though there were some weaker elements to it. It's definitely worth a watch if you are into sci-fi. The Expanse is the best sci-fi show on netflix imho. I'd give that a try first.

@simpleexplodingmaybe - I had the same feelings re the trilby but it's worth gritting your teeth through as the show itself is really good.

I thought Altered Carbon was pretty weak. The first few episodes are decent enough, but the longer the series goes on the less substance there is and it really feels like they've stretched the source material out unnecessarily.

Conversely, Discovery gets better the further into it you get.

I have a feeling the expanse has been taken off Netflix.

Yeah looks like you're right. Doesn't seem to be streaming for free anywhere now.

Everybody was bloody mumbling too. Speak up for christ sake. I don't think I finished series because I got tired of straining to hear them.

They did, eventually, sort that out but, yeah, the first few episodes were almost unwatchable

Damn, I'd been meaning to watch the Expanse.

Isn't Season 4 getting made by Amazon? I imagine it'll appear on there fairly soon.

@simpleexplodingmaybe - I've watched the first couple of episodes. Quite violent but seems alright and pretty watchable so far.
