Yes. I know. This thread is called "Netflix recommendations" not "recent movies and TV wot only just come out on Netflix"

I hadn't seen it but recently watched it and loved it. So I'm recommending it.

    I'm really enjoying DC Titans.
Sometimes it's a bit on the violent side though, but the story and characters are good. I'm watching it together with my 15yo son and he wasn't too bothered by the violence. My wife sometimes gives disapproving looks, but I guess that's her job ;)

Still waiting for "Night begins to shine" to play...

@Red_Bool watch Doom Patrol it’s a spin off and is awesome if not weird at times.

Tuca and Bertie is worth a watch. It is very silly and surreal.

    @HoriZon Oooh, sounds good!
I got my son into watching Stranger Things now that we finished the 1st Titans season. After that I'll be sure to try this!

Saw the new Spike Lee produced “See you yesterday”. Started off really well and a nice MJ Fox cameo too. Falls apart badly in the final third.

@Red_Bool might not be on Netflix yet it’s only got 1 more ep left to air state side.

We enjoyed it, but yeah it really shits the bed at the end.

We were enjoying titans, but it got way too pointlessly violent that it really turned us off.

I gave up towards the end of the first season. Its kind of stupid. A lot of people seem to like it though.

I liked it. I'm sure the pitch for it involved people mentioning Breaking Bad, though it's nowhere as good.

It's "chase a man up a tree, then throw rocks at him"

@Load_2.0 I endured Ozark up until the latter half of the second series. It is very hard going in places. It is good but not very pleasant viewing.

    Brawl in Cell Block 99.

Vince Vaughan as a tough guy is a bit of a departure, but this is a decent film. Very grim from about a third of the way in, not for the squeamish.

I loved it, plus I thought the departure for him added to the tenseness.

I noticed a few eg'ers recommending it so started watching Sunderland till I die last night. Amazing stuff, really is a curse letting in TV crews to a football club. I feel for the fans but couldn't help laughing at the same time.

Only 3 episodes in so far.

I gave up about 30 minutes in, was kind of predictable and aimed at a young teen market, and not in a particularly good way.

It's hard not to compare it to Breaking Bad, and it's not a comparison that it does very well in. In itself it's a pretty good series but it suffers from having no likeable characters, nobody you really have any sympathy for, no moments of humour amongst the darkness, and just generally not being as good as its production values make you think it should be.

I saw that, and didn't understand why it's *only* season 4 there? I've never seen it before.

Dammit, I'd forgotten they'd done that. Fucks sake. Still, the ending of the last season was suitable.

New Lonely Island film on Netflix. Watching now and it's funny so far. If you go for their shtick.

First 3 are on Amazon Prime. I think it was originally on Fox in the U.S. and Prime internationally but then Fox cancelled it and Netflix picked it up.

So is Rim of the World basically just a compilation of stuff you half remember from old Spielberg films?

Getting started on this tonight \o/

We've got two more episodes of our re-watch of the first three series and then it's over to Netflix.

Does anybody happen to know where the 2 "bonus" episodes fit into season 4? One of them is a standalone episode that can be watched anytime, but the other has story arc elements in it from what I remember.

Can definitely recommend Russian Doll. After the first episode we nearly gave up on it. Urgh, just horrible. But so glad we stuck with it - the twist on the formula is lots of fun, the pacing is good (short episodes help), and by the end of it they manage to get you to even like one or two of the characters. Worth a go I say.

Ozark I love too. You don't exactly cheer for the characters I agree, but it's incredibly compelling and terrifying. Great performances - I loved that at the end of the second series it was less about the ambition of the men, but all about the women running the show, leaving the men looking like simple puppets.
