Dark season two is up. For anybody that may need a quick synopsis of season one, then:

“Now I have another grandma, and she’s the principal of my school! Her husband, who’s fucking my mom, is looking for his son, who’s my father! A few days ago, I kissed my aunt!”

There's also a handy Netflix guide should you not be able to recognise any of the characters:

    https://dark.netflix.io/

Anyway, eight episodes only. Let's do this!

I really enjoyed Aggretsuko season 2. It's dangerously close to being twee, but it's depiction of office politics and navigating those tricky 'between adolescence and adulthood' years is bang on. And as most episodes are only about 15 minutes long they're incredibly easy to digest.

That's my Friday evening sorted, loved Series 1.

Yeah, MrsBob and I recently did a season one rewatch to catch as it's been two years. We forgot so much. Even better the second time round.

Reviews are very positive and apparently the weird just keeps ramping up.

    @BinaryBob101

I should have done a rewatch recently, bugger.
It's rare that I find a series where almost all of the characters are dislike-able that I love so much.

Do you watch it in German or dubbed?

I'd very much recommend a rewatch!

Always subs with foreign language, it's the only way. Apparently the dubbed version is spectacularly awful and put many people off.

I couldn't agree more, I detest dubbing. It always amazes me how bad it is when I see how good voice acting can be in modern video games.

Haha! Same conversation in the Rate The Last Full Season thread.

We need a general purpose tv streaming thread.

Hopefully, season two is as good as the first. I also had no idea you could even watch them dubbed, does Netflix offer that on all their non-English shows?

Yeah pretty much all. They are trying to make everything international. I quite like that actually, seeing more shows from other countries.

Problem is that I need to pay attention to the screen to read the subtitles... when I am usually also trying to do something else, like planning something, or tidying or doing the dishes.

I have actually found a couple good Australian shows. Pine Gap was really good. And I just watched Secret City (2 short seasons). Good stuff.

Really CBA rewatching season 1, but I can see anything trying to pick up where that left off is going to be impossible to understand wtf is going on. I could barely keep it all in my head when I was actually watching it.

    First world problems, eh?

Hopefully there's a Season 1 recap 'episode' like they did for OA and Stranger Things second seasons

I have only just finished season 1 and I am fairly sure I will have forgotten a bunch of people when I start watching it again this evening. It is a very dense watch.

Yup, no hand-holding at all and very little exposition for a show of this genre. Love it.

Counting down until MrsBob get home.

Oh yeah, it is an enjoyable mystery and the weaving of characters is great.

I’m not meaning to be funny but I can barely scratch the surface of my watch list never mind watch seasons twice.

Ha, same here. Especially as we pay for Prime and Now TV too. So. Much. Content.

Yeah me too, I have shows that I really like that I haven't got to watch yet like happy and good girls season 2. Everything is on hold now until gomorrah is done.

I've just started to make some headway with Gomorrah (S1 still) but my Nowtv download fucked up last week so now need to find time after my wife has gone to bed.

I reckon you will be hooked by the end of the first season like the rest of us.

My trouble is that I do most of my watching (as opposed to stuff we both watch) when commuting and it's usually early/late so subtitles are often beyond me. I know you're right though, as it's obviously top quality.

I'm also guilty of not listening to the original voice track and using subtitles, mainly because I'm browsing at the same time. It's true you do miss some of the performance, but my laziness compensates for that :-)

How do you manage to browse the web and read the subtitles at the same time?

@Bambot I don't. Although with Dark I'm having to go with subtitles as the english dub is awful.

Wow, Dark season two is shaping up to be better than the first. It's just so dense! I can't really binge this one, which isn't the end of the world, there's so much to take in and savour - a couple of eps a day is enough to fill your head with.

Finished episode five last night. Seems like everybody is in on the game now, apart from Egon, who's somehow just not getting it! :D
