For those of you who use a laptop/pc, there's a way round the auto play apparently...

Really liked that final season of Jessica Jones. I did not expect things to go that way.

    Nick's review nailed it:

    nickthegun wrote:

Not so keen on the minor B plot of two idiots pissing about with that bloke out of Russian Doll, though.

    5/10

Watched a lot of good movies lately, but On Chesil Beach really effected me tonight for some reason. Didnít like the ending all that much but found the whole thing to be very poignant and highlights the importance of actually listening to someone rather than being wrapped up in your own world

I am about half way through Perfume and it is pretty quality. A very odd and engaging police procedural but not really, it is quite hard to pin down. It feels a bit like a soap opera featuring broken people. It is a bit like Ozark where almost every character is horrible in their own special way.

There is loads of shagging in it too. So if that is your thing then fill your boots.

I enjoyed both Creed films so much that I would welcome a 3rd one where Clubber Lang's nephews cousins wife fancies a revenge shot.

@Mr_Sleep I really enjoyed Perfume for the most part but thought the ending was really disappointing.

When I first heard about it I thought it was going to be an adaptation of the novel, which I love, but it's not at all. The Tykwer film (which is an adaptation of the book) with Ben Whishaw isn't bad either.

I rather enjoyed atomic blonde, itís a bit overly twisty turny perhaps but the action scenes are totally top drawer.
That extended single scene battle later on really is breathtaking.

There are no single shot scenes in Atomic Blonde, all are edited to look like it.

Well they did a damn fine job, does take the edge off it slightly but itís still an incredibly enjoyable set piece and the choreography is spectacular.

Netflix rarely fails to disappoint me with their recommendations. I'm all over Atomic Blonde but it may as well be invisible on my front page.

I DID notice the Fresh Prince though, somehow, and that's a show I've wanted to look at again. Loved it when it first came out. Will probably drop it like my Farscape rewatch on Prime after I realise how times have changed.

I watched a low budget SF horror movie on Netflix the other day "Elizabeth Harvest". Liked it a lot, but then I checked reviews and apparently I'm wrong. It has Carla Gugino in it. I don't think I'm wrong.

I've added it to my never ending list.

They once recommended me Norbit because i watched Son of Saul. I'm still trying to work out the connection.

My favourite recommendation is still that screenshot that did the rounds suggesting that because the person watched Bad Moms they may like the Madeline McAnn documentary.

So Stranger Things 3 then, does it get better? I'm two episodes in and blown away by how poor I'm finding it. Sure the production values are high, but the nostalgia is really cheap and there's almost nothing of interest to hang your hat on. Something about Russians and rats, but that's it. Plus, was it always this soundtrack heavy? Underlining almost every new shot with loud 80's tracks, just to make sure you know this is the 80's. It's like it's tarted up as the 80's but doesn't really have the sense of it like the first season did. Very cheap indeed so far and close to binning it. Loved the first series, found the second one fun but ultimately just a retread with nothing new.

Please tell me this is worth sticking with.

We finished How They See Us last night. Really hard viewing - especially the first episode - but the end felt quite rushed and almost inconsequential...

I completely disagree. I think it's brilliant. I'm on episode 6 already. If you're not enjoying it now.then I wouldn't bother sticking with it. It's not going to do anything radically different.
