I parked in Vin Diesel's car parking spot when I was last at Universal :-)

Only in a golf cart mind.

What are the best horror films on Netflix? Mrs Hermit won't watch them, but I've got a business trip next week so thought I'd take advantage of being able to put on whatever I like.

    As Above,So Below.
    Leatherface.
    The Ritual.

The Thing should be near the top of any horror fans list.

Mountains of coke were snorted making that film, if you get into that groove, then it's fucking awesome.

Yeah, it's what the drug addled director of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre thought a Hammer movie was like. Kind of like a Quatermass film on crack.

I really like it, but it is an acquired taste.

As Above, So Below looks interesting and is on the list.

Has anybody seen "Hush"? Any good?

It's ok if you enjoy the sensory deprivation horror sub-genre. If not, steer away. I wouldn't say it's 90 minutes wasted though.

Yeah I've watched it. I can remember absolutely nothing about it. I faintly remember being annoyed at the ending.

I noticed that has been added. Fucking love that film. That’s getting watched ASAP.

On the subject of horror but less so on Netflix, I don’t suppose anyone knows if any streaming service currently has Near Dark?

Annihilation is good if you like sci-fi. I wouldn't exactly call it a horror movie, but it has one of the most disturbing things I've seen in a movie in the last decade or so.

I'm still hoping I can convince Mrs Hermit to watch Annihilation, so I don't want to waste one of my films on that.

I might have a trawl through now tv as well as I've just discovered you can have 6 devices registered, and I had to give up my laptop when my daughter wanted to steal a login.

Heh I had no idea that was added. I'll definitely get that watched again.

Some other people here have watched Dark, right?

I really liked the atmosphere and mystery being built up in episode 1, but certain revelations in episode 2 were a bit deflating. Is it worth keeping on?

I thought it was well worth a watch, and season 2 is even better.

I guess it just felt a bit anticlimactic going from "Oooooh, what's going on here, this is pretty interesting!" in episode 1, to "Oh. It's time travel" in episode 2.

I don't know exactly what I was hoping for, but it probably wasn't this. But I'll keep watching, see if it grabs me a little more.

Yeah, it's a time travel show, but it's far richer than just that and to say anything more would be a real dick move, cause the way it shows it's hand is very impressive.

I don't care what the genre is, if the characters are real and deep with a plot to match then it's worth watching.

That said, if you hate time travel stuff, then maybe you won't get much out of it.

Dark's up there with the greats of the last 20 or so years though, try to persevere and don't watch the dub.

There is some good East asian stuff on there.

The Rise of Phoenixes (Chinese) is probably one of the best shows made in the last few years.

From Korea there are Black and Stranger. The former has all sorts of craziness and the latter is a good mystery. Both have layers upon layers of depth.

She’s pretty, but not enough to save the “film”.
