Anyway finished. Short sweet anarchistic love story.

    Well worth a pop.

    A high 7/10

    Now for Dolemite E3

@TechnoHippy I enjoyed it. Certainly a grower, as it starts pretty generic and then goes in some interesting directions with its characters.

Felt quite clearly aimed at the young adult audience though. A modern day Buffy, but better

Just spotted that today. The wife is very happy as it didn't look like it was getting another series. Shall likely be watching that through the week.

Watched The King last night. Surprisingly good for a Netflix film. A tad long, a couple of extremely dodgy accents but entertaining nonetheless. One gripe: the stick-thin actors trying to tuff it up in armour was a bit lame.
    Decent.

I watch Netflix through my Samsung Blu Ray player, wonder if that will die.

Meh, will cancel Netflix and save some money :p

I'm not sure that many folks in the forum actually *play* games.

Paramount have announced that they're making Beverly Hills Cop 4 in partnership with Netflix.

Netflix simply want a lot of content and the more of it they own, the better, since it can't be pulled from under them at a moment's notice by the licence owners.
Quality is clearly secondary and anything with a big name - especially one that invokes nostalgia - is a plus (whether title, actor or director)

They have quality material, don't get me wrong, but they'd clearly rather have more of it than higher average quality. It makes sense to me: as long as people get lured in by resounding names, even if the material behind it is crap, Netflix have achieved their goal.

It's like sorting the decent games from the trash in the Wii games lineup.

And I'm frankly getting tired of it.

Yeah, I've been flirting with cancellation for a few months, but just cba. I guess this is how they make most of their money now. The US have been complaining about content for a few years and with the coming new competition they'll probably be struggling in a few years.

They may become the My Space of streaming if they stick with this shitty model. Gonna be too expensive too very soon/now.

Yeah, I can definitely see the same. Props for seeing the writing on the wall but they release so much shit.

Luckily I'm on my brothers account but as soon as they start cracking down on sharing I'll be looking elsewhere. Prime is starting to kill it at the moment.

Here's hoping the Witcher is good. It has its work cut out competing with the new LOTR thing.

Another prediction, I have no bias - never played the game or read the books, but The Witcher will be bang average and Cavill will be similarly mediocre.

To a cold viewer, the trailers haven't worked one bit.
  • Deleted user 14 November 2019 18:07:31
It does feel a bit rushed.

All we need is for a service to put a bunch of subscriptions in a sort of "package". Then the circle will be complete.
