Narcos Mexico season two is fucking excellent. I think the Mexican episodes may be better than the originals mi cabrons.

Unabomber documentary is really good. As is the dramatised series.

@mothercruncher I need to go back to it I think. Season one was fantastic. I dunno though, something about the Rogue 1 guy left me a bit listless after the first. I get he's going for cold, intense and machiavellian still, but also a bit boring early on.

    Carry on you say?

So anyone else watched Horse Girl?

I feel like I can't recommend it unreservedly, but it has stuck with me for several days now. Its very well made and acted, and if you are interested in the description, I'd say watch it without too much investigation.

Yes, it isnít great. Alison Brie is fantastic but the movie itself is boring and stupid.

I didn't find it boring, but it certainly leans on character over plot.

I watched What Did Jack Do? the other day. I'm not sure it's a recommendation really. I went from 'this is really shit' to 'actually I quite like this' to 'what the fuck is going on' to 'does this have some deeper meaning I'm simply not getting' within its 17 minute run time. And I respect that.

Watching S2 of Altered Carbon at the moment. It's not bad but feels like a step down from S1, despite having Mackie as a lead now. Not sure why, it just doesn't feel as exciting somehow.

They've kept that quiet! I felt like series one became worse and worse the further into into it I got. I liked the premise and the setting but somehow it ended up feeling increasingly cheesy.

Was the first one actually good? I got a few episodes in and kind of lost interest. Been meaning to go back to it at some point.

Season 1 was a good show just on the cusp of being Thrones-level great. I loved the book but I found that the series was rather cliche in the dialogue and how some characters behaved. The excellent premise and the overall story saved it for me.

Will be getting right on season 2 this weekend. I'm confident they'll have a good story to tell, just hope they can sort out some of the hokey character choices/cheesy sci-fi show themes this time.

Yeah I enjoyed the first series of carbon alot. Looking forward to the second one I'll start on it this weekend.
I like the concept (providing this one does well enough) of having a different actor playing the same lead every series. It's like doctor who but with more tits.

Netflix should use that as the show description.

I really liked it. I thought it built a decent world and the story was pretty good.

Iím a few episodes deep into s2 and, yeah, it does feel a bit smaller, dunno if it has a lower budget or something, but Jetpack Wings guy is really good and, thematically, it is more of the same, which Iím fine with (although Iím pretty sure Iíve worked out the entire plot, annoyingly).

So, yeah, would recommend with the caveat that Iím a big sci-fi nerd and it ticks most of my boxes.

I quite liked the first season without it ever becoming great. I couldn't stand this new guy in the marvel films though, he was rubbish, so am hesistant with season 2.

Watched the first episode. Enjoyed it.

I also got a lot out of a rewatch of the first AC series.

I like that it isnt a straight sequel / follow on. Will reserve judgement on some things that slightly bothered me (like being broke, etc) until I have seen more and got a bit more of the back story.

I think season two is the better of the two actually, coherent, bleak but beautiful to look at and full of high stakes tension. Some heads exploding. Score done by the guy that did the mournful Last Of Us soundtrack too.

Hardcore Henry is leaving Netflix on 1st March so only a couple of days left to watch it, highly recommended from me. Basically a crazy first-person shooter turned into a film.

I recommend avoiding Running With The Devil at all costs. Drivel from start to finish, doesn't even bother to make sense. If not Nicholas Cages worst film, at least gives Left Behind some competition.

Seconded. It's no Citizen Kane but it's certainly entertaining. And it has an unexpected Tim Roth. And a pretty hot Haley Bennett.

Surely it can't be as bad The Humanity Bureau!

Haven't seen that I'll admit, but a quick wiki suggests it has a plot, which immediately moves it ahead of Running With The Devil.

The first episode of Altered Carbon's new series was rather good.

S2 is good IMO but I've watched it all now and still think S1 was better.

I think it's mostly that I liked the actors somewhat less on average. Mackie's Kovacs didn't convince me as much for instance.
Also, almost everyone seems to be grim and cynical almost all the time. The first season felt like it had more light-hearted or spectacularly kick-arse moments, which were a welcome relief. S2 has those too but seemingly less so.

So Lynch. Weird as fuck, made me laugh a few times and also wonder wtf is going on. I'm not sure I could have taken more than 17 mins tbh
