The film is very good. I have no idea why they thought it would be a good televisual conversion. It is a story that is self encapsulating with the films runtime, it did not require filling out with a series.
I think it has potential as a series as the whole world/premise is great.

As for tonight's episode, WTF was the eyeball all about?

After being used to proper Netflix series, the cheesy, dramatic ending for ad break makes it feel soooo cheap.

Hereditary up on the 'flix. A fine horror film.

I am quite tempted by Hereditary but I am quite unable to watch certs ain horror film types, the primary problem films tend to be brooding creeping horror. Especially the Asian variety. So where does Hereditary sit, what would be a good similar comparitive? Something like The Witch?

@Mr_Sleep It's Supernatural. Not Grudge-like, more umm.. well I don't want to give it away. It's quite classy.

@oldskooldeano see, that definitely makes me interested. I will have to give it a watch now 😀

Unrelated in every way, Big Night has turned up on the flix. It is a very charming film about brothers running a restaurant and it features Stanley Tucci being great be for ehe became a bit ridiculous. At least this is what I remember from watching it about twenty years ago or whatever. It is due a rewatch.

The Witch is probably the closest thing in the ballpark. Itís one of those things that feels more like a psychodrama until it isnít rather than a horror movie.

It's kind of similar in tone to stuff like Rosemary's Baby. And yeah The Witch more recently. It's not for everyone but I thought it was fantastic.

The witch and Hereditary are 2 of the best horror films Iíve seen.

Yep, both are good horror films.

I'm trying Sense8 at the moment, the first episode is all over the place, but kinda interesting.

@TechnoHippy sense 8 is a bit of an anomalous show for me. I absolutely loved it and it hit various emotional notes for me but it is also obviously nonsense, overly provocative and stupid. Somehow it circumvented my critical faculty when watching it.

Also, there is a whole bunch of ludicrous sex scenes in it, they are kind of awkward and strange but roll with it as the show itself can be captivating.

The best description I ever read about Sense8 is that it's like watching a labrador retriever deliver a social science/gender studies lecture. It's simplistic and gets a lot of the details wrong, but it's just so happy and enthusiastic and positive that you can't help but love it all the same.

It's pure Wachowski, basically. I don't always love what they do, but I hope they continue making things.

I've been distracted by Project Blue Book, but will no doubt return to Sense8 and give it more of a try.

The sex scenes were a bit odd :-)

A bit late to the party but just finished the first season of Sunderland till I die. Enjoyed it a lot More than I thought I would. I kind of expected it to be an exercise in cynicism but it is quite an open and engaging series that reflects the realities of proper football fans and Sunderland. I was kind of fearing a show with Arsenal Fans tv personalities in.

God it does make me fear the inevitable shit show of the Spurs Amazon docuseries though. Been a embarrassment this season.

Think Iíll watch the killer Mic series next, impressed with him on the Scroobius pip podcast and a timely chance to learn something too.

4 episodes into S3 of The Sinner and it has turned to absolute shite compared to the first 2 seasons. Does it get any better or can I just bin it?

Kengan Ashura has been pretty interesting so far. It's set in a world where rival corporations resolve disputes through MMA matches. I'm not a huge fan of the animation, but the fights are good and there's a big helping of satire in there.

I thought it was ok, but nowhere near as good as the first two seasons. You're probably best binning it.

Baki is better, if youíre into that kind of thing. Itís even more stupid.

Yeah, watched all of Baki already. I'd never say that Kengan is intelligent, but it's more intelligent than Baki.

    (and I like Baki)

Random question for those who share their account. Do you often get "new signin" emails but for locations that don't match the sharees location? Yeah yeah been hacked etc..but they do state on the email that the location may not match.

Just curious if I should be concerned.

@mrpon I canít say your not being hacked, but every time Iíve signed in to Netflix of a new browser or device it has placed me at some pretty odd locations. Sometimes quite far afield!

    What's worth watching?

Going to give watchmen, altered carbon, narcos and that Sunderland thing a go.

@Vortex808 good start with your first ones although Watchmen isn't on Netflix..

Obviously it has all of rick & Morty.

Add black summer, kingdom, black mirror, Norsemen, star trek discovery, the Witcher..

I do enjoy Patriot Act by Hassan Minaj, but I am a lefty libtard.
