Watched the first episode of The Barrier last night and it's quite good. The world's gone to shit, and Spain elects a fascist government that immediately goes mental. I have to say, I'm not a fan of releasing episodes weekly though - I just want to enjoy it all in one go!

I'm struggling with Dark, I must admit. Think I've watched 3 episodes and I could barely tell you what's happened. I get that's the point, but boy is it slow. Think I'll stick with it - I just need to be in the right mood. At the moment, it's not something I'm inclined to flick on after a long day.
Without letting out any spoilers (Iím up to episode 9) the vibe is pretty consistent

I not long finished Dark and loved it. Have to admit I think it takes a bit of patience to dig it's claws in.

I just couldn't get into it. The vibe is so consistent as to be one-note.

There's a lot that's praiseworthy so I do get the love for it, but it had some fundamental flaws I couldn't get past.

Watched the first 2 episodes of Away, pretty cheesy and predictable so far. Does it get better?

I liked it and I refer the honourable member for Switzerland to my earlier review on the previous page. I know this goes against the grain of the hive mind consensus but that is what a personal opinion will do for you.

Lots of people on the forum thinking a shit program is shit does not constitute a hive mind.

I don't think it gets better, but it did enough to keep me watching. Far from great though.

A bit spiky mate but no worries. Itís 6.5/10 on IMDb so describing it as Ďshití would seem a stretch to me.

It twists my melon thinking about just how this got made. If you asked me to write a thousand film pitches, not one would be a Ratched-centric prequel to OFOTCN. Who thought anyone would want to watch this?

I mean, Im a big fan of Paulson and the original movie but I could honestly not care less about it.

My guess is they're going for something like Joker, i.e. show how someone can become as bad of a person as she was in OFOTCN.

I'm not very convinced it'll work either though.

Well, I would describe "going against the hive mind consensus" as a bit spiky without previous history but anyway, isn't IMDB A hive mind consensus by your logic?
    It doesn't matter, I suppose.

@Armoured_Bear Never heard of it till you mentioned it, gets OK reviews, not my cup of tea, films/series set in that era really put me off in general. I'd resist!

    @Armoured_Bear

Google down where you live? And why do you assume it'll not be any good?

For the record; 88% Rotten Tomatoes, 69 Metacritic

It's not out for another week so no-one here will have seen it.

I finished S2 of Cobra kai last night, after watching both seasons back-to-back.
It's complete nonsense and still no-one looks like they train in karate but it's entertaining and really nostalgic. I'm really impressed that they've got so many of the original players back for the show.

I saw one or two very mixed reviews and didn't realise it wasn't out yet, teenage hero takes on classic characters don't inspire me with confidence.

Heh. IMDB functionally operates on a scale between 6.0 and 7.9

Anything < 6 is unwatchable garbage and anything > 7.9 is inevitably skewed by fanboy brigading.

6.5 would absolutely be the score something would get for being a bit shit.

New season of Criminal (at least, United Kingdom) has appeared. Jon Snow is accused.
