Registered 18 years agoI'm not saying anyone that prefers BttF2 over BttF3 is a bad person or anything. I'm just saying that I'd have no trouble choking the life out of them. -

Registered 12 years agoIt's a tough call. I absolutely love the concept in BttF3, but as monkman said, BttF2 is the most time travelly, but it also has so many iconic aspects and a great story.
It does an "Empire Strikes Back" where it follows on from a very strong first film, but effortlessly takes things in series-defining new directions.
BttF2 is definitely the best film. -

Horror is really hard to pull off effectively but this series was very good. Highly recommended.
Released in 2019 so may have already been listed but almost finished Marianne. It's only got 1 season after being cancelled in January 2020.
French horror series but the English dubbing was imo rather good for a change. When a famous horror writer goes back to her hometown, she finds out that the evil spirit that plagues her dreams is also there in real life.
It starts out a bit slow but gets going around the mid point. We are on the last episode so hoping the ending is good. -

Classic talking heads and reenactment sequences! A battle of 30,000 troops shown by about 10 blokes and quick pan camera shots to try and hide it.
I like all that sorta thing it’s really interesting so far. Makes me want to go play Shogun TW ! -

Yeah I know there are options, my point was as I said "where is this"! It is supposed to be location based whether stuff is presented in original language or dubbed. E.g. in US stuff is generally auto dubbed, but not in UK.
Derblington wrote:
Yep exactly, there's load of options. My built-in LG Netflix app dubbed it automatically though.
Technoishmatt wrote:
You can change it under the audio & subtitles option.
What country is that zerobob? My UK Netflix doesn't dub it automatically, just has subtitles. -

Registered 8 years agoGone back a few pages and can't see a mention of it, I've been enjoying Behind Her Eyes. Four episodes in of 6, it's got me hooked. Not the sort of thing I normally watch but I think the storytelling has been quite good, just giving little bits each episode. On the face of it pretty happy lives until you scratch the surface kind of trope, but it's good. -

Watched it with the missus and the last few episodes just fucked it for me. Badly.

Hmm, I saw some people reacting to the last episode(s) on twitter/instagram, I'm interested to see what happens here. Just watched episode 4 (I wasn't as far along as I thought), and I'm starting to get confused. I'm guessing it's gonna be some Inception level twisting.

Registered 16 years agoThe first fruits of money hatting Mark Millar (Netflix basically bought the whole of Millarworld to get their own comic stuff going) are appearing.
Theres a teaser for Jupiters Legacy now that shows nothing but people in costumes and a few interviews with Millar and Josh Duhamel.
I had honestly forgotten about the massive millarworld deal until the teaser popped up on my timeline. -

Just finished it, mixed feelings. Pretty drastic genre change to Sci fi in the last two episodes.

Registered 16 years agoOh? I stopped watching it because it was just boring shit that was going nowhere for whole episodes......and it goes *sci-fi*? The fuck? -

Registered 16 years agoI am half thinking about cancelling it. I've pretty much watched all the good stuff from ye olde times when I was too poor to have sky and the like, and they've mostly lost that now. The films are invariably shit. The one series in a blue moon that is worth catching is not worth the torrent of shite they have the rest of the time.
Most of the time now I'm having some series diligently telling it's tale in the background when I'm actually doing something more interesting instead. And I'm *paying* for this. -

Registered 18 years agoIs there any way to check viewing time? Of all the streaming services, it's our most used one but I think that's mostly the kids. I can always find something to watch just because we have so little time, but that just begs the question why the fuck am I paying for 4 of the fuckers. -

Registered 6 years agoIf it was up to me I’d have cancelled it by now. Mrs Maybe still uses it a fair bit but I’m in a similar position to chopsen.
I dropped Prime for basically the same reason too. -

Registered 15 years agoI’d drop a streaming service or two for sure, similar reasons- I’ve watched the best quality stuff and have been flailing around watching the average stuff that’s left and getting bored and switching to something else three episodes in. But I hardly watch normal TV anymore. Had a cursory glance at what was on tonight and, yep, nothing of interest there either still.
I dunno, fucking books???

Registered 6 years agoI think Netflix may be the worst out of all the big ones now. Can't remember the last thing I actually watched on there. Their own stuff just seems to be getting worse and worse. -

Registered 16 years agoI think the problem is that they leaned really heavily into producing their own content just as the world fell over. And it’s not just them. Looking for something to watch has been paralysing recently and why I’ve been rewatching a lot of stuff.
If the plague carries on much longer is going to end up in another front to back Star Trek rewatch. -
I'm catching up with stuff I missed the first time around. Boardwalk Empire at the moment. Also you'll be pleased to know Masterchef started again tonight.
