Not sure if this is unpopular, but among the people who watched it I seem to be the only one who has noticed what a blatant racist fuck Training Day is. C'mon, it's this lone white guy exposed to a poorish Afro-American world of crime, death and evil, and then to an even eviler Mexican world of crime, death and evil and sadism. There's no other Caucasian, but the one person he can trust, his Afro-American "trainer", turns out to be an evil traitor himself. What do I learn from this movie other than that it's horribly dangerous to leave your white suburb home and go where evil blacks or Mexicans rule and that you should never trust a black person? edit: sorry for spoiler :/ Edited by DrStrangelove at 10:51:29 15-05-2014 |

Whilst I completely agree that Tim Burton is one of the single most overrated things in the whole world (ooooh look at this, pointy shoes and stripy clothes, I'm so fucking gothic, me), I do love Ed Wood… Yes, it's over the top but it's still great.
I say this every page but Tim Burton hasn't made a single good film. He should go down in history as a director with a special talent to make a film less than the sum of its parts.

Registered 15 years agoRegarding Training Day, that's crap. there are white guys in Denzel's team who are crooked, there are white guys that he meets in the restaurant who are crooked. If it was truly racist the white people would be good. Hawke is the ONLY good guy in the whole film, EVERYONE else is bad, whether they're white, black, Mexican, etc. -

I honestly am lost for words. Your opinion on films is completely invalidated to me now. -
