Yeah. I just think if they had left them, they would have left a brilliant legacy of influence and made themselves into star directors. Instead they just showed their flaws and spoilt their true work of genius. |

I didn't enjoy either sequel when I first watched them but now I love them. At the end of the third I had no clue what just happened but a few more views made sense. I still don't like the Zion battle though, never been a fan of big robot things. -

The first Resident Evil film is quite good. -
Adding pathos to super hero movies doesn't make them good. -

Things like big trouble little China would never be made now but they green light resident evil 14. -

Yeah, the '80s are untouchable.

Yeah, pretty much the whole decade was glorious, carefree fun. None of that moody emo shit that has to carry some insipid moral message.

We will get along. I removed the word action though.
80's movies were the golden age of cinema, nothing before or since has come close.
Big trouble little China, the burbs, blade runner, scrooged, scarface, short circuit, mannequin, Beverly hills cop, the shining, goonies, labyrinth, Ghostbusters etc.
There was just more fun to them and most out before I was born.
I've just thought you will now probably say you meant things like aliens, Robocop, predator, running man, Rambo, rocky, total recall, star wars.
Also Anchorman isn't very good. -

I think Tom Cruise is a rubbish actor that has starred in a lot of good films.
His agent must be the greatest agent in the world! -

Registered 14 years agoI am very surprised by the Anchorman dislike. I thought I was the only one that thought it was not remotely funny.
To be honest I have never found Will Ferrell funny. He almost wrecked Jay and Silent Bob for me. -

Oldboy is the second in the vengeance trilogy, the others are Sympathy for mr vengeance and Sympathy for Lady vengeance. All great -

Registered 14 years agoI did not like Mr Vengeance. Lady is very good though. Generally like Park Chan Wooks films but I am a Cyborg was painfully bad. -

Except for a few films all films before the 80s are dire. -

Registered 20 years agoMeh, they stopped making good films in around 1983. About 1976-1983 is when all the best films were made. -
Taken is one of the best pure action films in about 20 years. -

Crystal Skull was at least better than Temple of Doom.
The first Michael Bay Transformers movie is much better than the original animated movie and cartoon series.
Anchorman is not funny. At all.
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is one of the more enjoyable Indiana Jones films after Raiders.
The Bay Transformers movie is one of the worst pieces of cinema I've ever had to endure. The original cartoon wasn't exactly deep, but there's at least a level of camp charm to it that makes it somewhat enjoyable. The Bay version is the movie equivalent of CoD. Loud, generic and inexplicable popular. -

Agree completely on Transformers. I couldn't actually make out what was happening during the fights. It was as if two enormous, crushed tin cans were being booted down a street, accentuated by random explosions. -

Howard the Duck is the greatest movie ever made.
I've tried to watch Raging Bull 3 or 4 times and have turned it off after half an hour. Found it tedious.
