Yeah thanks Dougs. Looking more closely at their website it looks like you can watch series 2-6 on demand, but makes no mention of series 7. They'd be shouting it from the rooftops if it were available surely. Ah well.

As with all these services, they're not terribly clear on what content is available and when.

Got a day pass for sports today (for free luckily) and Man U Liverpool is fucking unwatchable on my 60mb fibre connection. Looks like about 200p and pauses literally every 5 seconds for a second or two. Well done Sky, I won't be bothering paying for this ever.

Yeh. I had a few free codes, but I'll still opt to stream illegally normally. Quality-wise, there's no contest. Now TV even buffers occasionally as well.

Buffers! That's the phrase I was looking for.. Yeah it's doing that every 5-10 seconds for me. Have given up.

Thing is the F1 this morning was very good, pretty high def and no buffering.

Worth bearing in mind monk your fibre connection is irrelevant if your wifi/router is no good. I've not tried the sports to be honest, but I watched a movie last night on it without a hitch in 720p.

Obv, mileage will vary, setup etc..

I've got a decent router and the PS3 is wired. Netflix is absolutely golden. Also as I say the F1 was good, I'm guessing the servers are getting hammered for the United Liverpool game or something like that.

Ah, apologies I thought you had the standalone wifi only box. Fair enough if you have it wired, that's shit service then!

Well it was a free offer code. Their loss as I shan't be paying for it on this evidence!

I've been using NowTV for just under 4 weeks now and I've been pretty impressed with the service. I've had zero problems with buffering and the only time the video quality dropped was when I attempted to use it with the PS3's awful wifi connection. Other wireless connections work fine for me but the PS3 needs to be wired.

I get the impression that it's okay for the F1. I'm tempted now.

Has anybody here used the 'Entertain Month Pass' thing? How is it for the Live TV stuff?

I started watching Game of Thrones for the first time two weeks ago, naturally I've now nearly finished season 2 and planning on getting the third as soon as possible. Watching the 4th series at the same time as everyone else would be good to prevent spoilers. I'm on Virgin Media so don't have access to Sky Atlantic any other way and there's probably some more stuff I'd enjoy on there.

It's "OK", though frankly for 9.99 a pop I'd have liked HD.

Still, there's an offer on at the mo for 34.99 which gets you 5 days of Sky Sports (inc F1) and the little box thing... so that's a little more bearable.

I wish you could get some of Sky's red button stuff through it though.

I tried watching dark knight rises on Sunday night, wired connection through you view but it showed 15-20 seconds footage then buffered for about the same and continued. Tried it on the iPad to see if was a device issue and same issue occurred. Speedtested my BT infinity 64mb/11mb so it must've been a service related problem.

Only just paid 4.99 for a NOW TV Sports pass to watch the Liverpool vs. Manchester City match moments ago.

... I hope my experience of watching a football match on my Apple TV will be the polar opposite of yours.

    *fingers crossed*

You know you can sideload a PLEX client onto the NOW TV box.

RE: quality - I've generally not had issues with buffering and when I have had issues I've re-started the app (on PS3 or Roku) to fix it. It's also definitely better than SD quality in both instances though it can take 30 seconds to settle.

Why do people pay for NOW TV?

Just ask a friend for one of their SKY Go passwords for the day, or longer if you're lucky
What if I don't have a friend silly enough to pay for Sky's subscription when they only watch a fraction of the content?

That's been known for a while and it's a good solution for the 1 UK terrestrial on demand service not available i.e. ITV Player.

Anyone using this on 360? I subscribed last week and every single time an episode of something ends / I try to quit out of a programme to go back to the menu, my 360 freezes until restarted - TV loses picture, no sound etc. Support have been oh so helpful and told me to try a static IP etc, which obviously doesn't help at all! No other apps do this on my 360 so wondering if others have found the same thing....?

Even trying the guide button > y to go back to dashboard freezes it when Now TV is running!

Nope but used it on ps4, not impressed. Out of sync audio is a constant annoyance.

Thought I would give this a whirl for Christmas and use the 30 day trial.

Picture is fine but the audio is a bit weak. Have to turn the TV up about 25 notches beyond normal and even then dialogue is rather so so. Perhaps how they stream it by being cheap on the audio bit rate.

    Anyone else ?

I've not had this issue with the service on PS3, Roku, Chromecast or Moto G. However the audio is only stereo which is poor compared to other services like Netflix but sufficient imho.

What device are you using and how is it connected ocean? I have numerous devices with it in on but mainly use the NowTV box plugged directly into the TV via HDMI. Can't say I've noticed any sound issues.

I figured out what it was, the Xbox had switched to surround sound for some reason, sure I didn't do that, was always set to stereo. Sound was much better now but not great as you say. Think I'll need to get a soundbar or something one day for films.

Watched the football at the weekend with a day pass and it was actually pretty good. Had the look of streaming video during the game but better than I expected and remained consistent. Won't get passes all the time but for the odd big game when you can't get a discount on Sports with your cable, sure.

The film selection, maybe I've just seen loads of stuff but doesn't seem too good to me. Some new films at least. How is Netflix in comparison, TV shows obviously but films ?

Overall, the NowTV is quite handy in small bites but monthly, doubt I would but every once in a while, think I would give it a shot. The streaming quality is okay, not as sharp as I would like but passable.
