I played the demo and didn't quite understand what was so bad about it. Pretty visuals, rock solid FPS and the controls were decent. I will pick this up at somepoint, I'm forgiving with Sonic games anyway, BECAUSE NOSTALIGA. |

Registered 17 years agoI also played the demo and all I can say is it feels like Sonic. And everything that was wrong with it since forever.
But then again I never did get along with Sonic games, not even during the Megadrive days, so make of that what you will. -

Registered 17 years agoFinished. Starts off so well. Quickly descends into excruciatingly hard memory test or trial and error levels.
A few hours in I was singing its praises and declaring it a must buy. I'd like to retract that. -

Registered 15 years agoI actually want this game a lot more than everything else on the system bar Mario 3D World. These comments aren't inspiring me though. I did really enjoy Generations (particularly the 3D levels) though. It's such a shame this is an exclusive. -

Registered 16 years agoWhat about getting it on 3DS? I've tried the demo and it plays fairly similar. No idea if you have a 3DS, but even if you don't there's quite a good catalogue of games out for it now
Maybe you just don't get on with handheld gaming though, which is fair enough. It's not an experience everyone enjoys. -

Registered 9 years ago@aros If you enjoyed Generations I'd recommend staying away from this one -- I loved Generations and was so disappointed with this. It plays like crap, the levels are crap ... it's crap. -

I have a 3DS but rarely use it due to the Vita. I thought the 3DS version would be a significant compromise and run poorly, is that not the case?

Registered 16 years agoI'd say it doesn't feel compromised at all. In fact I'd say I preferred the 3DS demo as it just felt a bit better. Sonic felt a bit more predictable, and the level design feels a bit clearer. However, the clearer level design might make you feel more boxed in. There's less room for exploration, which I preferred because it made it feel like Sonic meets Crash Bandicoot 2, but that means fewer nooks and crannies to explore.
It's all open to opinion though. The demo is free, so just give it a go and see for yourself. After all, you'll know better than I do what you enjoy

Registered 12 years agoSo, is this pretty awful? I'm quite fancying it, especially with the free Nintendo DLC, but keep holding out for it to tip below the tenner point... -
Yeah, thegamecollection had it for a tenner (plus shipping, to Sweden) a week ago but I decided not to and have regretted it since.
