For COTN is only a few weeks away.

Time to sit down in front of the PC and have the hours melt away. Soothing music, relaxed gameplay, and no RAWK music or twitch-based analogue gameplay.

Oh and Rise of Nations is on it's way to me too.

Picked up RON:Gold from GAME yesterday, it was Ł19.99 in the sale, then an additional 20% off and I have Ł7.50 in points on my card, I was starting to think they were going to have to pay me to take it off them!

Very good game it has to be said.

Weren't you in the Beta test also Nemesis?
I have the beta + patch to the latest Beta version still on my PC but not played in aaaaages.

Oh and each time I load up Rome:TW, the first few seconds of music make me thing, "hey COTN!".

I swear it's identical!

It's the sequel to the Impressions games (Pharao, Caesar, Emperor etc.), albeit by a new developer (though it's the same team, more or less, afaik).

Sorry everyone, had to audit another floor at work!

Rise of Nations (Gold) I got for 25 quid. It's the Mac edition, so I don't know if it's x-platform. Probably not!

I was on the beta, but managed to lose the f..king disk after they did the big patch. The demo seemed OK, but as everyone [at the StagLAN] knows I do like my city builders. I think the only exception to that is SimCity. I really can't get excited by grid-systems. Zzz.

Now I've got the X800 card in the machine it should run at a stupid res and be able to cope. Hurrah!
