@Psiloc they have really clamped down on cheap gametime recently, I have gone to just giving them the £8 a month. Pretty sure there is a basic version for a few quid less that should be enough. -

Any tips on which class to start a new character with? Seeing the Arcanist and the one that becomes Black Mage are suggested quite highly. -

@Humperfunk I think the main decision boils down to whether you want to be DPS, healer or tank, and then seeing which job takes your fancy -

Registered 16 years agoYou can level up all the jobs on one character if you like eventually.
Can’t remember how far I got but apart from the odd dungeon I did it 95% solo IIRC. -
@Humperfunk they are all viable and fun to be honest.
I would think about which role you wish to take on tank, healer or DPS.
If it’s dps, do you want a melee, ranged level magic.
I am usually scholar (healer) with a max level machinist, cos I love the move set.
Also, you can change you job/class whenever you want (after lvl 10 I think) so don’t worry about picking the right class as you can try them all. -

None of the mainline content is difficult and as I said, if you need a healer I am available. I have done all the non savage/ultimate (the stuff you need a static group and skill to do) stuff, and just log on to do crafting/running random dungeons for fun now. -

Registered 9 years agoI love that I really don't have time for this game, I've got chartered exams to study for, three weddings in four weeks, have roughly 150 games in my Switch and PS4/5 backlog, have recently started Trails in the Sky on Steam...and just want to spend all day playing this now!
I think paying a monthly subscription defo helps that urge. Really isn't actually much at all but you still definitely want to make sure you get something out of it! -

Registered 14 years agoIt’s Shiva and I looked it up and it’s unofficially German language. I haven’t partied properly yet but literally every PC is speaking German.
Tbh at this point they should alert you during the character creation process since they charge you real money to move server… -

@Psiloc I was planning on replaying the entire MSQ at some point anyway so if you think you will stick with ff14, I will roll a bunny girl to play on shiva -

Registered 14 years agoMy character is too ‘young’ to move to a new server full stop as it stands. Apparently if you want to move to a preferred server (i.e. an underpopulated one) you can do that for free so I’m going to look into that -
@Psiloc I was going to say that might be a possibility. I checked and louisoix (my server) is preferred atm. So it might be worth a look.
