What a pleasant way to start the day, sipping my cuppa and I notice that RedLynx have announced not one but 2 new Trials games at E3, Fusion on PS4, XB1, X360 and PC and Frontier for mobile. Official page and trailer here I suppose the most notable thing is that Playstation owners can finally get to indulge in some Trials fun while WiiU users...well, can't by all accounts. New Trials games always make me happy |

I hear you're something of ninja at Trials Evo, Ironlungs, only completed my first Extreme track on it last week!
It's nice to see that whatever happens when this arrives, I'll own a platform to buy it on straight away, pure gaming joy. -
Heh, not really on Evo (compared to many on EG at least), I was OK at HD though I guess
I'm secretly glad that PS4 has been announced seeing as that's probably the way I'll be going unless I can get my lazy ass around to upgrading my PC in time. -
Looks much less precise and more gimmicky compared with the previous games - although admittedly there was very little gameplay footage to go on. -

Excellent news - glad it's on PS3 now as my xbox died
@King_Edward Make sure you check out the demo first to see how it runs on your setup - game hasn't been ported well & has lots of issues. Redlynx forum is full of complaints...

The mobile version looked particularly "old-skool" Trials but yeah, I'm also one for less gimmicks and more focus on good racing tracks which, knowing RL and the community of track builders, will be undoubtedly be the case.

I'll wager that a version of Trials Gold will make it to PS3 though at some point now the Xbox monopoly is seemingly broken. -

Does it use Uplay? I think that's why I skipped it on the first place.

I'm glad they've gone multi platform, shame we didn't get any real footage except for a rider doing tricks.
I really hope there isn't a focus on tricks now... -
Hi Andy .gif)
If it goes all SSX on me I'll be mighty upset
Conjecture here: separate leaderboards for times / trick points per track?
Plus, new Inferno...!!! -

Delighted that they announced it for ps4, as I thought I wouldn't be getting my trials fix next gen. -

EG tend to get their Trials news from me so it's no mistake they got it wrong in this case
-

I hope if Gold does come to PS3 they do a better job - frame rate on the PC version is awful & makes it pretty much unplayable regardless of graphics settings.
Best start saving then... -

I haven't bothered with the pc version of trials though as I've also heard it's a poor port -

Registered 11 years agoSo long as the trick system is just for style/ points (that, as mentioned, should have their own leaderboards) and they don't give you boost power or something equally silly then I see no reason why this wont be great! I also hope that a) my phone will be able to run Frontier and b) it won't have stupid controls, but if not then I'll still have Fusion!
I still have some of the Evolution dlc to play through as well! -

Registered 15 years agoWonder if the leaderboards will be cross-platform. Im hoping the tricks are meaningless fluff or a skill game, saying that it would be awesome to throw in some show off tricks into that top 50 time. -

Just read from the Redlynx Facebook page, I won't need a new console as it's coming out for the 360 too. \o/

Heh, exactly the same thought went through my mind mate. I can't see it happening (as ace as that would be).

Hi Trialists,
edit: link:
There's been a lot of speculation about what FMX tricks will mean for gameplay in Trials Fusion. We are not quite ready to announce specific game modes and how they will all fit together but rest assured, we understand what Trials is and what our fans love about it. The essence of Trials will not change. When we added Supercross mode to Trials Evolution, it was an addition, not a revision of the core game. Similarly, the FMX trick system will be an enhancement in Trials Fusion, not a radical reworking of the basic idea.
I hope this can ease your worries until we are ready to release more detailed information about how the FMX tricks will fit into Trials Fusion.

Tsch, typical console journo. It's not the third Trials game, it's at least the fourth. Cuh. -
Tricks other than flips just seem wrong. Still April is great news.
