Still sucks though -

Registered 15 years agoI've seen the Stones about about 24 years ago. They were a bit pedestrian even then. I really don't think they'll be mind blowing tonight. I really hope they are, but..... -

Registered 14 years agoIt's all down to greed at the end of the day sadly.
The artists performing at Glastonbury aren't paid any extra money for having their gigs filmed and broadcast on the BBC, although they are given the option of not allowing their gigs to be filmed if they so wish.
But the decent bands out there don't care and (rightly) see it as an extra bit of publicity for free.
Band's like the Stone evidently see it as losing out on money they are entitled to for doing what they do for a relatively low fee (act's aren't paid much to perform at Glastonbury) while millions of people at home are watching for free. -

Registered 15 years ago@beastmaster they were the same 24 years ago. They've always been an absolute shower, yet somehow it just works. Fumbling their way to superstardom

A bit of this I think. Whilst I like the coverage, all it needs now is mountain dew and dorritos.

Registered 17 years agoThey are excellent in Shine A Light, the Scorsese documentary which is more of a gig film really. -
Still waiting to see if the Stones just get cut off the BBC after an hour? They've not mentioned anything.. surprisingly

Could be worse. Could be "doddery". -

Jo Whiley said its only a snippet of the full gig, I imagine there is a specific point in the set list that they have to stop broadcasting at.

I got the impression coverage started many songs in. Maybe they'll stay with it to the end.

Registered 13 years agoThe Orb are on bbc4 via the red button just now. Surely seeing them in broad daylight defeats the purpose? Still, little fluffy clouds still sounds wonderful.

Serves me right for not watching properly before
Just hoping Jagger doesn't have anymore layers to take off. -
"Start me up!". They need fibrilator pads again?
