... it'll be nice if we had a 'Rare' month in which Viva Piñata and Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts was available. I bet that may well happen although they shall throw in Perfect Dark Zero and Kameo: Elements of Power instead. -

Registered 13 years agoWell I'm enjoying Crackdown as much as the first time. The only real issue I have is that you have to download the titles in a limited window, why not forever, go to GOD pick Halo 3 and download, no fee. -

I know where your coming from with this.
Don't believe you at all. There are far too many decent games to be playing without wasting time on old and mediocre games because you got them for free! But maybe you play more that I do.
I didnt download Fable 3 and wont bother with Crackdown either - Ill never get round to playing it. Dont even get enough time to play the games I want to play!
DR2 though Im a bit more keen on so will give that a bash.
My gf for one was very pleased with Fable III. -

Registered 14 years ago@DUFFMAN5 You only have to 'purchase' them in the window. You can download them whenever you like. -

Hi mate
I know, but I still think they could have just made it "free" all the time for Gold -

Registered 11 years agoYeh but then someone could get a 1 month subscription and download £150 worth of free games all at once, then bugger off for his £5 or whatever. (With games with gold you keep the games forever unlike ps+).
Of course, there's only been a few games on it so far, but this could easily happen 6-12 months down the line. -

Registered 8 years agoBut they dont want someone getting all the games on a month's gold membership do they?
Edit: Beaten to it.

Registered 14 years agoIt's an incentive to maintain a gold sub, if they were free all the time people would just buy a month of live at the end of the year and download everything.
Edit. Beaten to it as well.

you don't have to actually download them to benefit from the offer.
Queueing them on the xbox.com site, then immediately deleting it from the queue works fine, and it then shows as 'purchased' for ever.
I've done that with Fable on the off chance I might want to play it, but doubt I ever will... -

Registered 9 years agoI had totally forgotten just how much fun Crackdown was. I remembered i loved it, but Orb hunting is still as addictive as ever, and oh boy, the sound they make is still almost Pavlovian in the response I feel.
Downloading the keys to the city dlc again, since my save worked, so I have fairly high powers after reaching the end of the game, but no-one to biff the heads of.
I think it might be a late night tonight.

Registered 7 years agoI would enjoy Crackdown but the shooting mechanics are awful, like PS2 era GTA games -

Registered 12 years agoHave they announced September's games yet. It's only a few days away, ffs! -
I thought I should change the thread title really. -
It really is quite poo. So close to buying it so many times and now that I have it I'm so glad I didn't fork out any beans for it. -

Registered 10 years ago*shrug* I really liked it, basically fixed all the things that annoyed me about the first game (overly strict time limits, survivors being absolutely useless at defending themselves) and added in fun combo weapons. It was good enough for me to enjoy it again when Off The Record came out as well. -

DR2 is OK from what Ive played just starts slow. Does the psychopaths timer only start counting down once you meet them? -

Registered 13 years agoI like the dead rising games although it can a bit unfair when you run in to psychopath with cheap attacks
If the next game was good, MS would have announced it already -

They're going to post every Gold subscriber a scratched-up beyond use copy of that demo disc that came with the PS1 that had the interactive T-Rex on it.

Registered 11 years agoFor a game that cost me fuck all, I think Dead Rising 2 is pretty good. I feel sorry for the saps who went out and bought it though, especially if they bought it full price. My only complaint is the loading times and the fact Chuck can be a bit clunky and slow. -
Stingray was way better than the T-Rex! -

And for the next game, didn't they originally announce Halo 3? That hasn't been done yet, right?
It'll be that or Bully (seeing it was on sale)... -

Registered 11 years agoMajor Nelson said he'll announce the month's two free games on the last day of the previous month - so September's games should be announced on Saturday.
Unless it's "working day" in which case I guess it'll be tomorrow?! -
Found a rumour that says Magic 2013 will be our next freebie.
