I really like the Giant Bombcast and while I know some don't I thought he was an excellent host and he seemed like a guy you'd hang out with. -

I had so much respect for Davis, especially after he told Gamespot to fuck off over how they handled Gertsmann's dismissal. A great video game journalist with integrity is hard to come by these days.
Did he have health issues? I know he was overweight, but 34 is still way too young.

I listen to the podcast each week too it brightens up what is usually crappy Wednesday in work. The podcast and the giantbomb site won't be the same again. A very sad day for gaming indeed. -

One of the first podcasts i downloaded was the old Gamespot crew of Ryan, Jeff, Brad and Vinnie and been listening ever since.

He was a rather big guy and seen him out of breath doing nothing in videos so perhaps it was sooner rather than later. -
A damn shame, he seemed like a great guy and I'm a big fan of what they've been doing at Giantbomb. It won't be the same without him. -

Registered 19 years agoI suspect it will probably have had something to do with his size. Even in the past few years he'd gotten noticably larger, and he was a pretty big guy even before that. Sad to think that maybe the partying and festivities of his wedding and honeymoon tipped the balance.

I'm actually a little bit shocked at how sad I feel about it. I mean I didn't know the guy but I feel like the format of the Bombcast means you get quite a lot of insight into the lives and real personalities of all the guys on there. -

Genuinely upset over this. Celebs go all the time and it's sad but having 'sat in' on the Giant Bomb podcasts for many years this almost feels like losing an actual friend.
