Registered 14 years agoPart of me wonders whether they should just leave it at one Avengers movie for the time being and explore other areas of the Marvel universe for the time being. Once we have had Thor/Captain America 2 I'm not really interested in seeing anymore of those characters on the big screen. But that's just me... -

Well they are, which is why we have the Guardians of the Galaxy and Ant-Man pictures coming. They've recently managed to get back hold of the Daredevil rights too, so they're probably starting to think about that as well.

Registered 13 years agoAs for this film, I have faith in Whedon and if anyone can pull off a whole host of new heroes in this one (Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch and Hank Pym are so far all confirmed, as it presumably Vision if Ultron is in this), however if they're basing it on the recent comics event (which, going by the title, they are), then I'm very worried as that was one of the biggest piles of shite Marvel have put out in years. -

Those are still only two aspects of the rich tapestry of characters and stories that could work really well on screen.

Registered 9 years agoI thought the Affleck DD movie was incredibly poor, IMO. Well in need of a reboot. -

Registered 14 years agoAlso, if The Wolverine is anything to go by... the sooner they get the rights back to the X-Men the better, although I doubt that will happen anytime soon. -

The director's cut wasn't actually half-bad.

Along with Spider-Man, that's not likely to happen anytime soon.

I'd quite like them to get back the rights to Fantastic Four. Whedon would be great with the FF. -

Oh, never saw that. Not really an Affleck fan, so doubt I would go out of my way to seek out a copy of the DC.

I liked First Class. Fassbender's slide into his native tongue at the finale non-withstanding.

Wolverine blows chunks though. -

Yeah I saw that the other day. He actually looks the part, funnily enough. And with Scarlet Witch already on the cast list it's a bit of a no-brainer.

Registered 17 years agoThe see-saw is in both films. The DC ads an extra subplot with another villain, iirc. I don't remember the film being better with the additions - it contains all the same shit that plague the theatrical release.
It's just not very good. -

Quicksikver is played by Evan Peters and he was with the X-Men cast at comic con.

Nah they are having a different origin. They are both English superheroes and Quicksilver has already been cast for the Avengers.

Apparently there is no problem with using thema s long as they aren't referred to as mutants. Which does make you wonder why bother using them at all.

its half arsed and stupid. The first part, set after the end of the world was kind of OK but then it turned into a load of idiotic time travel nonsense and a series of ass-pulls more ludicrous than the last.
What is so bad about the event?
And then, weirdly, Neil Gaimans 'angela', a character first seen in spawn, appeared.
(gaiman won angela back from mcfarlane and the crossover ended up being a long and boring way of introducing her to the MU)

Oh, and it ended being another 'the crazy adventures of wolverine' like he isnt already infesting every other comic in the stable.
