Registered 18 years agoNo, I'm just skint but getting fed up with my 5 year old Moto G1.
What was the gen with the 5X? There are some good deals on a refurb of that.... -

Registered 14 years ago@Dougs I have just bought a g4 dual SIM for £125. I came from a Samsung edge plus s6 which cost me 3 times as much.
The only difference between the 2 phones is a fingerprint sensor and the build material which doesn't bother me.
G4 is a beast of a phone!

Registered 19 years agoGot my OnePlus 3T. Seems great so far, BUT
Whatever you do don't get the official tempered glass screen protector. It doesn't go all the way to the edges, and actually lifts off slightly all the way around. Think it's because the screen curves slightly...
Anyway the factory-fitted plastic screen protector was way better, and I shouldn't have removed it.
Got the ebony wood case with it which is lovely.
Sound is fucking awful compared with the One M8 it's replacing which is a shame. Didn't think I'd notice it but actually I do for watching quick youtube videos or a quick blast of gaming now and then.
Otherwise great product! -

Registered 7 years agoWell, while you guys were all out buying the Oneplus 3T, I sent mine back and got an Honor 8 instead. Much happier with the form factor, otherwise not a lot of difference really that I could see from my couple of days use of each. Admittedly, not being familiar with Android, I really wouldn't know what to look out for anyway. -

Registered 6 years agoVery pleased with my Le Max 2. It's very fast and everything works well, overall build quality is right up with the best of them. In fact it is similar to the HTC 10 in both style and materials. But only cost £164 only real obvious cost cutting is the loud speaker is tinny (but very loud).
A word of warning though the ROM it came with was a bit shit not to mention whatever dodgy stuff was installed. It took some trial and error to find a decent one, plenty of choice out there but lots of compromised ones also. Settled on 'Reincarnation Remix' which is a variant of CyanogenMod. So if you are happy with custom roms I say go for it.
I got it imported via Gearbest but is available elsewhere eg Aliexpress. Would consider another LeEco that's for sure.

Don't be so sure about that, I've left that screen protector on mine and it seems to pick up the tiniest scratches in my pocket and makes them look like I've been attacking the screen with sandpaper.

Registered 19 years agoThat official Oneplus screen protector has already cracked at the edge after one day. Think the bit that wasn't quite flush got caught on a key in my pocket. Ironically the broken section is now flush with the screen!
Edited by StixxUK at 23:09:48 25-01-2017 -
Yeah, they're not great but the screen underneath is also a bit of a bitch for picking up scratches. Even if you're not throwing it at a hooker when you're fucked up on amphetamines like user Load -

Anyone tried the volume on this? Genuine issue with my xperia z3. When on the motorway on my bike the volume is just okay, compared to when I tried my brothers galaxy edge something whether it pumped out double the volume.

Registered 19 years agoSo, the G6.
https://www.engadget.com/2017/02/26/lg-g6-preview-mwc/
Now, this is where things get a little confusing: Some of G6's special features will only be available in select markets. For instance, built-in wireless charging is only available on the US models, whereas the 32-bit Quad DAC previously seen on the V20 is only available in the Asian variants -- bad news for audiophiles elsewhere in the world. Similarly, only some Asian markets will offer a 64GB model as well as a dual-SIM variant. Simply put, you won't find a "perfect" model anywhere, which is a real shame.
Sigh. -

@Syrette LG really just never learn do they. This was supposed to be their return to form with no gimmicks or nonsense, just a solid phone.

Tempted by the Moto G5, what has been leaked, much better size and value for money. -
I don't follow phone specs but Nokia have just announced their come back along with the 3310, three new smartphones. Look quite slick and not that expensive.
