So I need to get a new ADSL connection sorted out in my new flat. Requirements are:

-no download caps, or if there is one it has to be very generous :)

-no yearly contract - I want to be able to cancel at a month's notice, like I used to be able to with virgin.net

    -not absolutely shite

    -preferably not too dear.

    So. Ideas folks?

adslguide is good for comparing various ISPs plus people rate their service so you can see if they are dependable etc. I went with Nildram in the end because they consistantly ranked highly for speed and have very good support staff, £24 a month for 512 BTW.

People seem to be happy with Nuttah's offering.

As an alternative consider Pipex - Supanet are cheaper, but people are dumping them very quickly when they don't provide the goods.

You might be in an area covered by bulldog - they've got some great deals at the moment too.

Im on supanet 1mb at the moment, only had it since the start of the year. Downloads from websites come in at full speed, but torrents come in at 10k, not overly impressed. When I was aplying buldog didnt do the 4mb in my area, but do now, and with an introduction offer of £30 a month (for 12 months) INCLUDING bt line rental I cant see how you can go wrong (unless they are really shit) considering line rental is £11 for bt on its own.

Plus.net and freedom2surf are my recommendations.

I have F2S with 2meg line and 5GB cap for 19.99 a month inc VAT. I;ve been with them for 2 years now. Never had any problems at all.

Plus.Net seem to be on a par but with maybe a slightly wider choice of packages and a tiny bit cheaper on some of them.

Either would be a good choice.

Just left Supashite today and migrated to Zen. Supanet are cheap at £23/mnth for 1mb line, but Confusious say never "Never trust a company that calls its connection unmetered then puts you on sub-56k speeds if you download more than 800mb per day".

Pipex are great, only reason I'm not with them as they offered me no flexibility when I had to move. They werent prepared to wave the month left on my existing contract at my previous address to get a new 12 month contract out of me at the new place.

Zen have no contract so if you dont want a 12 month one then Zen are good, but sadly there is a connection fee for new users (unless migrating) and they arent the cheapest.
