@xoofx from Twitter started a User Vote for get Microsoft to ensure .NET is installed on the Xbox One by default so that .NET games will work Xbox One. This would allow a greater number of indie developers already using XNA to port their games to Xbox One, using something like MonoGame (http://www.monogame.net). Games like Transistor, Bastion, Mercenary Kings, Fez, ARMED! and Infinite Flight, Wizorb. Other than porting, XNA/MonoGame allows faster iteration of creating new IPs because the framework it easy to use for new developers looking to create the next indie hit. Please cast your vote on this thread, so we can bring it to the attention of the powers that be at Microsoft : http://visualstudio.uservoice.com/forums/121579-... This item is already in the top 6 list found here http://visualstudio.uservoice.com/forums/121579-..., but with a few more votes we can get it into the top 5 and maybe even No. 1! If you support new and old indie games on Xbox One, then cast you vote! |

Registered 8 years ago@Dizzy I've not seen this mentioned anywhere on any Xbox One release. Could you please link to where you have seen it mentioned that .NET will definitely be available on the Xbox One from day one?

Registered 8 years ago@YoshiMcTaggis Some of the games there are old ones, others like Transistor and Mercenery King are brand new IPs that will be released on the PS4. I'm sure there could be others new IPs that are XNA that would be released on both PS4 and Xbox One.

Registered 8 years ago@sanctusmortis Unity only just announced Windows 8/RT support, while MonoGame has had that for nearly a year now. So the question is, will this .NET Unity support be day one? I've heard .NET would not be day one, but some time in the magical future. This petition is for .NET to be there day one. -

Registered 8 years ago@Dizzy Great, but I need to ask again, will that be day one? That it will have .NET at some point in its lifetime I can believe, but I'd like to know if it will be there at launch. -

Registered 20 years ago@CartBlanche It depends on the Indie plans of MS. I think it won't be in place for launch TBH. Probably 6 months later. -

I am hoping unity will support next-gen. C# is one of the languages that can be used in that under mono.
