I've got a month old 200Gig SATA Maxtor hard disk for sale.

The reason for sale is that it isn't compatible with my motherboard. Oh joy of joys.

My motherboard is an Epox 8RDA3+, so if you've got one you obviously won't be interested. No other systems appear have any issues with SATA discs, it's just that Epox are a bit crappy when it comes to bios updates.

I need a replacement drive, so I'm hoping to sell this for enough cash to help me afford the purchase.

I don't know if it will help the sale at all, but it has over 100gig of top DIVX movies on then and a large collection of MP3s, which I may *forget* to erase before posting the drive.

It is now retailing at £70.31 which is considerably less than I paid for it a month ago, so offers in the region of this would be appriciated.

Would it help at all if the 100gig of Divx movies were porn rather than DVD rips?

    I'm interested.

Or are you talking about an internal hard disk.

    Ah, you are.

    Sorry then I'm not interested.

    Ah.

Well in that case, take my advice and avoid SATA and avoid Maxtor - Epox mobos don't seem to like them.

Bit of luck you said something M_H. I was going to buy a couple of Maxtor drives because of how well they work in my sky+ box I upgraded. I want a couple for a PC that will be on 24/7 and the maxtors seem good for that.

Are you saying you'd be interested should you find a PCI card?

I'm glad I was able to help you out for once!

The Maxtor works fine in my Shuttle PC, just not in my Epox mobo. I've had Maxtor's all my PC life (in the same machine I've got a 30gig one which is about 5 years old and is still going strong). Some people rave about segates, but I've had no reason to change, until now.

Oh, and I didn't realise you could upgrade Sky+ boxes!

Well I'm looking for an offer as near to £70 as you can get. I'll throw in free P&P if that helps.

I take paypal, but would prefer bank transfer (if you're willing) as I'd like to avoid paypal taking their cut.

Also, can you tell which one it is? At that price I'm guessing it's the Maxtor DiamondMax 10 with 8MB Cache

    {I'd rather USE paypal 'cause by money's stuck in there :) }

Give it to HairyArse... I'll buy one off ebay and let them have the paypal money

I still have to send you that £40 for your Dad's external cd writer. Email me your account details and I'll bank trasnfer 110 to your account - though Bank Transfers from Barclays can take 5 days - or would you prefer Paypal on this occasion?
