The problem is cunts get stuff done. Your boss is a cunt? Chances are you'll be on time every day, and make sure to do what is asked. Client is a cunt? You'll double check your work to make sure there's no complaints. We should all stop working for cunts and stop buying their products, but that's not very realistic. At least with Musk I'm pretty sure I'm never going to buy a Tesla or go to outer space.
Nah. Some cunts get stuff done but most don't. Some cunts start off well, 'run a tight ship' etc. And then it goes to shit. There are a lot of cunts toward the top of lots of things though, I'll give you that.
That's more or less what I meant, by no means it's a guarantee for success. I used to do quite a bit of customer support and clients that complained a lot got better/faster service.

There's also a business model that suggests it's counter productive to devote more of your business time to the minority of clients that complain a lot/eat up more of your resources, because outside of a few industries that depend on just a couple of high-value relationships (say advertising), you're better off concentrating on your less needy customers.

Youíve got to be more than a cunt to get to the very top. Charisma, being pretty bright and people wanting to follow are all critical.

I read an article that suggested about 20%of high level workers (directors etc) are psychopaths medically speaking.

When I worked in managed services, the most vociferous wankers were significantly less profitable.

There's probably a sweet spot on the cuntiness vs. actually knowing what you're doing graph that makes people extra successful.

It's sitting in the Venn crossover where you can be sceptical/disagreeable enough to push your point of view without being destructively antisocial. In the same way that society has to have just the right amount of "deviancy" in order to progress, without becoming decadent like that there Rome/Weimar.

There are always outliers though, Trump for example. People like that though haven't worked their way up from/through anything and have just been ensconced at the top from the get-go.

I'm doing some bollocks instead of my real job, and I've had to tell one of our teams that they've spent 46 dev days so far this year sorting out the problems of a customer who is worth $44k a year.

I think my new job after Rona might be "Telling entitled cunt customers they're entitled cunts"

Do it as a consultant. Lots of non-cunts will hire you at the drop of a hat (and at the cost of an arm and a leg so long as it's not theirs). Middle and upper management at the big tech companies , for example (there are a few!).

It sounds awful. I much prefer my real job, I don't have to talk to customers or devs, just entitled owners of smaller businesses who are pretending to not be desperate to sell up

I think I might have been the person in the room who said, "If we're gonna do this, we might as well go all in and have the mayor sucking him off."

The problem with the "assholes get stuff done" theory isn't really that it's wrong (though it is often wrong). The bigger problem is that it leads people to assume that being an abrasive asshole is *the only way* to get stuff done. And that is emphatically not the case. There are plenty of other, better motivators for doing a good job than pleasing a cunty boss.

I'll be honest, I've actively worked to my full potential to undermine / fuck over cunty bosses in the past.

It's a great way of getting the best out of me. :D

Just been sent an invite for the Starlink rollout. Kit is £450 and service is £90 a month.

Too rich for my parsimonious blood, Elon. Even with my current crappy internetz.

I'm sure that price for something between 50 and 150mbits seems like a deal in America, but it's fucking twaddle in the developed world.

Isn't the point of it that you can beam it down into areas that otherwise wouldn't have internet access? Like Bumfuck Shitsville.

Is it any different from the satellite broadband that's been available for the last 20 years?

The satellite internet that's been around for ages needs a separate line for upload, otherwise it's download only. Dunno how they're doing it with this, but I assume the upload speed is shit.
